Quite a few weeks later, the Ambrosia is still in full bloom. The Hell's Angels are coming by more and more, especially since the frogs have started to raid Magellan and they really need those drinks after the long day. Still, you can always see all the squadron patches around the bar in large numbers, and even a few Fleet Officers.
Kara had been waiting, leaning on the wall near the bartender, for a few good minutes already. She kept silent and smiled while she was about to receive a glass of Red Cider.
If only he'd hurry. - she thought.
Another couple of minutes later, she finally gets that drink, so she looks around for an empty table, where she decides to sit and enjoy the atmosphere.
Eve enterd the bar for her first time. She stoped a bit and then started to look around, she saw the Colonial Emblem all over.
*Well i hope i can get something good to drink* she thought. Then back from that admiration moment she went to the Barman and asked for a Peppermint Schnapps.
*Hello , can i have a joug of this delicious Peppermint Schnapps?*
She was wating for her drink, but in the meentime she looked around for a free or not so busy table. She spoted one , were a nice lady was enjoing her drink. At that moment she got her drink and payed.
*Aww, thank you sir , that was very fast, now le't see it taste!*
She was heading to the table were that nice lady was sitting.
*Hi , may i sit?*
She sat down and quitely she started drinking her drink. Curious from he kind asked fast and quite.
*Hi , my name is Evelyn! What is your name ?* For a moment she was wating for her resopons and quickly examination the lady in front of her.She was please with what she saw, she look older then her , sociable, and kind , but you never know what can hind behinde the first look! Wasen't her kind to make an impression from the first look, then she thought to herself*She seems nice , i hope we can have a dialgue, sitting here and just be in our own corner will not be pleaseing, to me neither her, i guess!*
After sipping a few times from her Cider, Kara notices the young woman who approaches the same table where she was sitting. Unable to respond even to her first question because of the flurry of words, Kara simply smiled in silence for a few seconds.
"Kara Gordon, Highlander. Pleased to meet you." she responds firmly, while extending her hand for an amiable handshake. "Haven't seen your face here before... new?"
"Ah, a Firebird... That's something. I'm Startle." she answered to Evelyn's first question with a smile.
After a pause and another sip from her drink, she continued. "Well you got that one right, i'm not really a drinker." She raises her glass a bit, to point out it's a non-alcoholic drink. "But hey, a pilot has to dash away from the daily nuisances, right? So what better place for that than the Ambrosia. And the atmosphere's nice, not too quiet nor too noisy."
She glanced around, checking a few people who just entered the bar, then she looked back at her current partner, gazed into her eyes briefly and asked "What about you? Just the usual getaway?"
*I rather say more of passion, i am doing it from the time i was 19.Now 22. But you see*She was playing with her glass*humans are not able to reckon such skill , if they can be in some shady manner called skills*
She looked sad , there was something that was running throught her mine and soul, but she never speaked out her problems, rather keeping them inside of her, just for her own little principles.Quick after she finished her prharase she went staight to the bar and asked for another drink .
*Hi sweetheart can you gave me another of this nice drink you gaved me 1 hour ago? Oh and please can you bring it to my tabel?* She gaved the barman a nice lady cute look , with her nice eyes , where you can see a spark of all a woman needs.
Now she returned to the table she quaietly sed:
*Excuse me for that , i felt the need of another drink... Now were left?...Oh yeah about my passion for drinking .. If as i sed it can be called a passion, you could say , looking more into life issuse then a little fancy 22 girl , who doen't even know what is in her drink.*
Isn't she a quick one... Kara thought to herself, after observing Evelyn's moves.
"A passion for drinking you say? You and about half of everyone around here. Not sure if it's a skill though, and if it is... i surely don't have it." she chuckled at the end of the phrase, then paused for a moment.
"And what is it that you ordered after all?" she asked on a plain tone.
*Well ,what i orderd is Peppermint Schnapps, witch has a good tast for all. Is not that rought if you ask me , but if you cannot resist alcohol is not recomanded, and yeah i am a quick one as all you try to say that in your mind , but you are not quite the feeling hider, if i say so myself, neither do i and not a good liar.*
She looked at Kara and spoted and easy smile, tryed to be hide withc much tallent.She felt good under's Kara company, she was enjoyable and she was calm even with the Hectic way of beeing.
Thus Kara was haveing that innocent but funny and nice aura, tha speard energy allover, well atleast on Eve side.
*Kara , if you allow me to call you so, call me Eve, fried-like , we as far i think we can be friends! Don't we?*
"Kara's just fine. No need for tedious "sir-s" or "ma'am-s" amongst two Flight Officers after all." she responded with a smile. "And aren't we all friends anyway? Brothers and sisters in arms, as some say."
After tilting her head towards the left a bit, Kara continued "Then again - you never directly answered my question. How long have you been around?"
*Well , i joined the Colonial Militay some time ago, i can remember exactly , maby becasue of the drink , but is some time, i think we haven't got the chance of meeting in space, if you ask !*
She looked into Kara,she saw well nothing words can define , well if there was a word it would be ''Abstract''.She looked frendly, but after a glass or two , you can really define the friendlyness of somebody , even a sister in arms.
*Now tell me Kara, what brought you to the war, such fine woman, with all excuse , you havent, or you can hide it very well , the war touch , still got the feminism, of a defenine lady, not a bornig kid like me who lost her charm and many other, with her eager of revenge, but that subject for another round of drinks another day.!*
She was quite depressed , more like a bit touched bit her own words, memories pass now thought her mind , and all gaveing her a badfeeling, she was somewho affected by sound and memories from her childhood , witch she never knew of, or atleas not remember.She shaked a bit an then get back to her normal way of acting.
