It's always fun to try and smooth-talk your way past a golden chrysanthemum in a Samura KT.

That said, when things go south I wish the high-cargo vessels didn't have blindingly obvious weak points in their firing arcs that no ship designer - no matter how incompetent - could have failed to notice. Nerf the guns if need be, but why make the designs so easily exploited?

This has always baffled me; I just wish train vs bomber wasn't so horrendously one-sided. Doesn't have to be an even fight, but it shouldn't be 90 - 10 odds either.

I'd be happy with an option somewhere in-between the two options.

Nothing too lengthy, but interactive enough to make the encounter meaningful, like it wasn't just some guy going through the motions.

Some good RP is something that can brighten the day. It doesn't have to be lengthy, but it has to be more than the standard "2milrdai-"stuff. A pirate that demands something NOT-credits, is so uncommon that it would surely be appreciated. Like Vulkhard said... Ask for the traders shirt. Brilliant! Demand that the trader insult the lawenforcement in systemwide comms. Get the trader to gamble for the amount he has to pay. Use the coinflip or the diceroll. It's not brainsurgery.

Depends on reason I'm starting to trade. If I want money-first answer. If I suddenly start trading for other reasons... RP cargo, or, perhaps, delivering cargo to build a ship, I will look for interesting RP on my way.

When i came to this server, i has try up fast credits for purchase the good ship and respectively case " The pirate has a quick RP and asks for credits, you can then quickly get back to finishing the trade run ". But now, i think, case " The pirate has a long, lengthy and maybe interesting RP with you before demanding credits ".

It's not that easy.

If it is one of the Argh-I-are-so-bad-Piiieerat who would - if he could - take all money, all ship, rape then murder the crew and live happily ever after, then please make it quick. I am not interested in your stories. I'll pay your (likely too high) demand and just move on, or gun you down or die trying.

If you are a pirate who is generally a person that is worth talking to because he has something to say that is worth listening to, then you are heartily invited to chat with me and likely I will hire you (for the amount you wanted to pirate me) and we can go on chatting while flying.

In general, RP is better than just "Demand => Pay => move on".
But in that category of "Rp", there is a large spectrum that ranges from. "U r suck" to "U r awesome".
I prefer the "suck" category to do the fast und painless "10 mils or die"-rp to me, while I ask a lot for meaningful and intersting rp from the "awesome" category.

I nominate this poll for the biggest BS of Disco reward.

Some roleplay is always welcome, however it's also true that when I am trading I do it mostly for credits and if roleplay is too long it becomes non profitable (from a credits perspective).

So I would say, 90% of short roleplay and 10% of long roleplay before asking for credits.
