I wanted to make some witty comment in reply to you, Alte, but then I realized that you're probably so drunk you wouldn't even get it.

Oh well.

This is on topic. It really is.

I'd love to see some vanilla infocards or rumors of whether Rheinland's fleet was destroyed - or not.

I know from the story that - van Claussen said that while on the Osiris - the Rheinland fleet completly destroyed the Kusari fleet in New Tokyo orbit (with help of Liberty, I think? Not 100% sure of that, but I think they both moved onto Kusari together).

So, both Liberty and Rheinland smashed Kusari's fleet pretty much completly. Next Rheinland would move onto Liberty of course, from two sides probably. Bretonia only had minor fighting, but Rheinland fleets were around their space already as well, like the one cruiser in Leeds or the Battleship in Cambridge or the Battleship(s?) in Tau-31 and Tau-29. Overall Bretonia had by far the smallest fleet anyway, but also didn't lose much during the nomad war.

Rheinland lost quite some ships, but also very likely had the most ships of all houses during the war, significantly outnumbering Kusari (and Bretonia) and outnumbering Liberty by a bit. Considering that Liberty had quite a lot of infected people too - keep in mind how many people worked "for the Nomads" -, a fact that wasn't paid attention to much in Disco, I'd say both fleets lost the same amount "to the Wilde", then again, that is for neither of them a lot, Nomads didn't have that kind of "force", they just infiltrated major positions instead of "everybody they could find and their mothers".

(Btw, I started writing this about 6 hours ago ... I guess I totally forgot about it, hopefully the post is finished)

Which in turn should mean that they are able to recover.

The thing here is that they were supposed to have totally dried themselves up with that stupidly massive Nomad War fleet, and of course everything got smashed at the end of that. Heavily nerfing them by saying no fleet in all of Disco is stupid, but second strongest (by far) before Gallia appeared, not so much. Then again, if they can go from 1 to 70 in two decades it makes the logic of smaller groups being able to produce a handful a bit easier to go with.

I've also decided to bookmark this post of mine since I haul it out so much. For "what happened in the past" view that you are taking, perhaps this older thread has some merit too.

The Westfalen is now one of the most advanced ships in Rheinland now, it is a state of the art replacement that took the same name as the famous Battleship after it was retired... it also means that all the Rheinland Battleships are less than 20 years old, that is pretty state of the art.

Rheinland has impressive production capacity compared to other houses it seems.
Figure I would just swoop in and throw that in there.

While I still think that at least a large portion of the Rheinland fleet would've survived due to being stationed in relative safety within their borders, I think that the only thing we can really say for sure about this subject is that we, as a community, are pretty divided on it.

The poll speaks for itself. 7 7 9 as it currently stands, and I don't need to tell you that's not a consensus. There really should be some serious, in-depth discussion about this regarding the development of the plot and the mod as a whole that includes the entire community and careful attention to what's established in the game and in past versions of the mod.

Zoners managed to make a whole lot of caps out of shekels in just a few years. I don't see why Rheinland can't do the same.

If we're being realistic about this, Rheinland is overpowered, but you cant exactly limit the number of caps on the server.
"Oh no, all the capital ships for Rheinland are taken up"

Back in the day when I wanted to shoot LNS caps, the logical thought was RM caps, but because I know RM shouldn't have that amount of caps, I chose to get a Rogue DE. Hell ! I even took part in a RM-LN battle with me in the middle...

My opinion is outdated

From lore's side, zoners doesn't have huge amount of caps, at least of Nephils. But yeah, kinda agree, that Rheinland has potential to building fleet. They might be need some time to solve some internal problems, and start making (another) fleet.

Right...that.

Anything else? Anything explaining how the Rheinland fleet actually got destroyed?

I feel like the Westfalen infocard being one of the (few) things that remained from the intended vanilla story of "Liberty stepping in after the Nomads were destroyed and steamrolling Rheinland" (even though Liberty was engaged against Kusari as well...).

EDIT: And don't get me wrong, I could very well imagine that Rheinland lost a lot of the navy they had, the nomads were intentionally sending forces into their death pretty much, to reduce human forces. Yet I neither can believe that all ships just went "poof" like that (without causing Liberty or Bretonia - since Kusari was already defeated, Kusari could not have helped out - massive damage as well) nor that Rheinland rebuild a fleet of that size in 20 years. 70 BS would not just require a ton of ressources (which Rheinland forced to move more into the Omegas for ressources, I guess; they have those materials, but just barely; though the scrap from Sigma-13 might have helped quite a bit as well) and money (which Rheinland doesn't have in that amounts, or so they say), it also would mean popping out more than 3 BS per year. Sure, they got three shipyards...but one of them had to be rebuild first as well (Schatten)...

Btw, who cleaned up the messes that Trent caused when he blew up those Rheinlanders near Willard, Sprague, in Cambridge, in Leeds, in Tau-31, in Tau-29 and in Sigma-13? D;
Or all the others messes like blowing up a Liberty Dreadnought and all in New York and half a Kusari "fleet" at Tohoku?

And how did Kusari rebuild their fleet so fast to a level higher than Bretonia?

Junkers must've been busy...
