There are humans and there are nomads,
one of them destroys and exploits any resources it can find in any environment,nothing is off the table to them.Some of the powerful leech of the hard work of lesser ones without regret while they enjoy themselves on the tears of the oppressed and defenseless.These humans constantly wage war against each other even though they are of the same species.
The other is a weird alien species created by a powerful ancient race who hold high attachments to fellow nomads and don't engage in inter-nomad war but instead there is harmony inside their own species



Tell me...... which one of them is a parasite?

it sounds cool but you can do it with roleplay too because what will you do if you were a zombie...
you will try to infect everybody till there is nobody left and you will talk a little bit weird
people will start making a potion to cure everybody


but what if you are a nomad and you get infected............

As much as I love Zombies. I could only see something like this as a Local event. Yes a planet might get infected but how would the plague spread from there. No Zombie has the mental faculties to fly an Interstellar ship and hence the plague couldn't spread. Granted there might be a case or two of zombies reaching other planets on transports already enroute but that would be the extent of it. Once the other parts of Sirius catch the news of the plague it would be quite easy to identify any zombie who did miraculouly end up at the cockpit of a ship.
Just look for the pilot talking about eating brains. Pew Pew Zombie dead (again)
