*Fred Schneider nodded several times during Mittermeier his speech.*

“A diversion would be the best to make an escalation near their biggest interests. I am not sure if there would be people willingly enough to intercept their shipments? We could create an illusion, to let them intercept the transports. If they manage to ship their Niobium to a secret location we would increase the market value. Of Course this is a scheme that might backfire in our own faces. But we could always pretend that our inventory was not properly checked. This would mean that the shipments of the IMG would at least have a possible supply of lets say 50% that will be brought in by these hired men. In the meantime we play openly that we need more steady shipments and contact others to dislocate the attention from the Gallic Mining Service. I have to say accordingly to our paperwork, the GMS are currently giving a steady line of supplies. I believe it has been unnoticed by the IMG, at least for now. How long the IMG remain unaware of this, I do not know. But I am more then certain they will glue the pieces together at some point.”

*Fred Schneider took his hot coffee, Ulrich Schweighöfer thought a moment how to formulate his thoughts. *

“Herr Schneider, you are correct that it is a dangerous scheme to do. Still it might be a string we could pull to divert the IMG from our plans. Another possible solution would be for Kruger and Daumann to work more close together, that would result the IMG to be more frightened with their position in Rheinland. They would in the meantime show their best side to our Bundestag, maybe even in the form of big supplies of Niobium to our beloved Rheinland. With it they will draw a lot of attention of criminals to themselves already. It would make it not that difficult to cover our tracks with this scheme of yours then Fred.”

*Ulrich Schweighöfer took a moment to breathe, while he looked at the Daumann director to show any kinds of emotions about the scheme.*

“Herr Mittermeier, while Fred was talking I had a message about the Omega 11 system. It seems there was another incident with these miner thieves. I suggest we would cooperate more together against these thieves. If it would be possible then even against the Red Hessian Army. A problem we both face in these systems.”

Mittermeier nodded.

"Closer cooperation against IMG and hessians is more than reasonable. Our bases in Omegas lie in relative proximity to each other, and combined security efforts would increase our standing in that region of space. I knew about that Omega-11 zone breach for few hours now, and it definitely makes your proposals even more interesting gentlemen."

"To be honest, about the Niobium deliveries, I'd be rather surprised if they actually increased them, the Guild I mean. After all, majority of that Niobium is used by Daumann smelters and factories, together with Republican and Kruger factories and shipyards. I wonder will they claim despite facts saying otherwise is it delivered to ALG? Their waste disposal allies aren't that big as we are, nor do they have extensive industrial network which'd require niobium input. But then, we can temporarily replace niobium in some alloys, although it will make produced parts worse. I mentioned such option earlier, but that's Plan B, if for some reason we can't secure supplies from GMS. It's interesting how potential ban would affect IMG - of course we would be affected for some time too, but make no mistake - IMG is just a tiny weak entity, it's neither second Interspace nor second GMG, although some of them like to see their beloved Guild like that."

"Our diversion would need to be staged on as big terrain as possible. Not only our usual Omega combat, but direct attack on Guild in the Taus would certainly help us. Sadly, we in Daumann don't have many close contacts in that region of space, Kusarian keiretsu with their Tau-29 bases are our best known partners in the Taus. Maybe you happen to be in contact with some local organisation which could raid their operations?"

*Ulrich carefully listened and after Mittermeier his final words he waited for a brief moment and started to talk.*

“You made some good points there herr Mittermeier, especially about the security part. Krüger Mineralien has already dispatched security fleets to all systems containing Rheinland strategic operations. Those are Omega-7, Omega-11, Dresden, Koeln and Frankfurt. The latter gives support to Sigma-13 and possibly Munich system units. Also, I had an idea about our joint mining operations on relations Omega-11/Koeln. If Daumann even needs Krüger is ready to jump in and help if needed. I hope the same can go the other way around in Koeln.”

“Now about those Niobium deliveries the IMG might increase. You don’t have to worry about those. They can increase it all they want because in the end IMG is as you have said earlier ‘’just a tiny weak entity’’ scattered all over Sirius with resources that can’t be compared to house corporations like Daumann or Krüger let alone the Gallic Metal Service which has gathered resources for entire Gallic armada now roaming through Tau systems. Right now I can only speculate that GMS might even be bigger in assets then Daumann and Krüger combined considering what I just said.”

*Fred Schneider was listening from the side, after he finished his coffee he waited for a small pause to come to start talking.*

“Ulrich, before you continue I might have an Idea whom to contact for the Tau regions. I am not sure, but I believe they could be useful for our goals we wish to achieve. I will contact them as soon as possible, however I recommend to perhaps create a illusion with the IMG. To at least let them believe we plan to be more cooperative with them, so they would not expect us to target them in the open.”

*Fred Schneider takes a look at his wrist, he reads a message from Helene Schmidt and just nods.*

“Herr Mittermeier, would it be possible to ask some of your engineers for expertise in ship design? We are planning to expand a bit on that sector, but we are not that familiar with constructing ships other than mining ships.”

"This shouldn't be a big problem, at least when it's about smaller vessels, but you don't own a shipyard. How do you plan on getting this done?"

Dieter stopped for a while, and then continued:

"Your diversion plan sounds interesting, what do you plan, director? Contracting them? Diplomatic initiative? Why would they trust us in such a thing, after all those years?"

"And, as the final point, can I know what your Tau plan is? This sounds like diversion too, and it may prove very helpful for our plans. If you think on contracting some bounty hunters, they would need a base of operations..."

*Fred Schneider nodded between some of the words of herr Mittermeier.*

“Our engineer teams are researching a possibility of designing blueprints for the creation of entirely new model of ship. One that counter the threat of both Hessians and Corsairs that we face on Omegas. With test models to be created to see how it actually will hold in space. From there we need to re-examine the options and priorities for the ship designs and specifications. How it would suit the needs of Kruger Mineralien. We would like Daumann heavy construction to build our prototype and possibly help with restoring some problems in its designs if they occur.”

*Ulrich, starts his part after Fred went silent.*

“Yes Fred, this would be something. Still I am not sure on which stage our research is at this time. Herr Mittermeier, please note that this is still in its early stages and a lot has to be done before we might be able to even mass produce this design. But I am walking forward with the schedule now. What do you think about a this proposal herr Mittermeier?

Our intel about the IMG tells us that whenever they see a possible threat, they act fiercely on it in that area and moving a lot of their security assets to those regions. Like they hit us against our knees in the Omega’s, I am sure they do that with more corporations, not only in the Omega’s but in other area’s as well. I mention now corporations, but it may be a lot more whom suffer from their presence in certain regions. When we make sure their forces are more divided, we have even less problems with the loose Miners Guild. They are just a small bump on the road, the problem is who are their direct allies? We know they have great dealings with the Red Hessian Army, maybe even with the Corsairs too, but then again the second part is just speculation.

As for the diversion plans in Taus, well we have friendly assets working in these areas and diminishing Guild influence in the best way they see fit.”

Mr. Schneider... - Mittermeier started-
What sort of ship do you have in mind? With due respect, Kruger is not a shipbuilding company. Designing a new ship from scratch will no doubt be difficult for you. Perhaps we could help you even at this stage, not to mention renting our drydocks at prefferential prices, but first I need to know what exactly do you plan, to reply you how can we help with that. At prefferential price, I admit, but at a price nonetheless. This crisis hit us all, and we're looking for more income sources at the moment. Perhaps, if the design proves promising, we could produce it at The Ring for you... as partners in this project.

I'm pretty sure I mentioned this earlier, but your connections with some Gallics are better than our own. I'd like to ask you to act as our middlemen in dealings with Gallic miners from GMS. They have acces to many resources both our corporations desire. And while we're at it, we are ready to support your diversion in the Taus. Please, simply deliver us list of what your operation needs. Equipment, supplies, weapons? We will gladly deliver it for that purpose.
*smiling satisfyingly, saying this more to himself than to Krugers*
Free of any charge.

However, we would like to know how our funds and equipment are spent, invested, and would like to receive reports about results.

Looking behind the window at New Berlin, and at clock on the wall, Daumann added:

Yes, IMG itself wouldn't be that big problem, if it wasn't for the specific way the Guild operates in. They are neutral with Red Hessians and let them supply from their stations, Freistadt included. I don't know about any IMG-Corsair deals though and I honestly doubt there are such deals, but who knows. Maybe they would be ready to sign a non-agression pact with the Devil himself, if there was ore in hell.

However, unlike them, we are loyal to the cause of our House, and that gives us strength dealing with such treacheries. Excuse me, directors, but it's getting late, we're sitting here already few hours... Are there more important things we need to discuss right now?

I am loyal to the House - Mittermeier thought -
To the House of Daumann.

*Fred is a bit distracted by a female entity after Mittermeier’s words. Ulrich poked Fred with his feet to distract his attention from the female.*

''I am sorry, was a bit distracted. Back to your question. The ship we want to design and possibly build, with Daumann’s help, is to tighten and increase our grip over the ever growing criminal activities upon our ships, both in Rheinland and outside of it on escort duties. Our plan includes a light or mediocre bomber class, with a clear visible insignia of Krüger Mineralien to strike fear in their hearts. Is such a ship possible to be built in cooperation of our two corporations? We estimate project starting funds to be 80 million Sirius credits. Enough to make a few prototypes and after these prototypes we could talk again about a possible mass scale production of the ship designs on Ring. The very best for now would be to focus ourselves on the designs first without rushing.''

*Ulrich followed up on Fred’s words.*

''Now about our connection with Gallia and Gallic Metal Service, they indeed have access to vast amounts of raw minerals, both from Gallia and from newly conquered space by their Royal Navy, so I think we can work out some sort of supply deal. A meeting with Gallics can be arranged.''

*Ulrich takes a few sips of water and continues talking.*

''In the end, whatever deals IMG has with the lowlifes of Sirius, as always we should work on exposing them as well as countering them. Until then we are working for the glory of our corporations and Rheinland.''

*Just as he was about to stand up Ulrich thought of something.*

''One more thing before we finish this meeting. Our stations in Omega-7 and New Berlin, the Reutlingen Storage Facility and Breuninger Station have great amounts of empty cargo space, awaiting new shipments of ores. As you might know they are constantly filled with Silver, Copper and Cobalt ore but we would like to diversify offers to shippers and thus I’m coming to the question for you. The famous Omega-11 Diamonds. Could we contract your miners to supply those two stations? The offering buyout price we could offer you is 3000 Sirius credits.''

*Ulrich looked towards Mittermeier anticipating a response.*

Mittermeier noded, slowly considering what the Kruger reps just said.

- 80 million for start isn't unreasonable price, and naturally we'd be glad to help and have shares in this project. I'll order our planning department to contact its Kruger counterpart. We must stay as the superior technologically side, and that project may very well aid that.

- Moreover - he continued - I am of opinion thanks to this new contract proposed by you, we won't have to invest the funds we could use elsewhere - we can simply finance it from diamond sale. That's something helpful, as we are preparing a big project elsewhere, and want it to be properly financed. While we're on the diamond subject, the last question from me today - how are your Dresden diamond operations?

*Fred Schneider nods towards Herr Mittermeier*

“That is good to hear Herr Mittermeier, we expect to hear back from your planning department soon. Let us hope these prototypes will prove to be successful for the Rheinland as a whole. As for the part financing it with the diamonds from dresden. You know there are a lot of hostilities in that system. The Red Hessian Army as well as many other known groups of shady figures round themselves around those areas. Making it hard for our miners to extract anything at all. To add the fields are pretty depleted as well, so it makes it hard to almost impossible to gather a profit from the operations there. The high cost maintenance due to the frequent attacks of the Red Hessian Army is not making easier.“

*Fred Schneider takes a brief pause and Ulrich, starts his part after Fred went silent.*

”We have rough intentions to depart our operations from the Dresden system, decompile usefull parts from the station and maybe abandon the station in a manner to benefit Rheinland and make a setback for the conquest of the Red Hessian Army. These exact plans I cannot tell you anything about for now because they are still being made. Still it would leave us with our other source of income, aluminium. The system we use to gather it is at the moment very undeveloped. A tradelane that is half finished and a lot of loitering and passing traffic. Not to mention a rather unsafe area to extract the aluminium ore. We were cooperating with the ALG in this system called Koeln, but it has proven not so successful as we wished it would be. With the plans we want to build our own station in the system near the current Wuppertal Station. This to support the mining operation, increased security and increasing storage capacity for the aluminium ore.“

*Fred takes a look at Ulrich*

”There is always planet Saarbrucken Ulrich, but we have to look a bit closer into that one. Maybe you have some intriguing idea’s about it Herr Mittermeier?“

*Fred takes a look at Ulrich*

”I had an idea about planet Saarbrucken. Herr Mittermeier, how about we depart for Koeln together and on the way there or even there we can have a close up discussion about the future and possibilities in the system?“

- Depart? Right now?

Mittermeier raised an eyebrow.
