1. Any ID that allows fighters also allows bombers. They're the same, as far as IDs are concerned.
2. I say this a lot, but it's particularly useful here. Border Worlds Transport. 3600 cargo, 9 turrets (4 forward, 6 side, 5 rear). One of my favorite transports. Zoner NPCs use the Dromedary (Border Worlds Freighter), so I figure a Zoner-based trader faction would use the BW Transport. You can buy it on Gas Miner Naha, Sigma-13.
3. The Freelancer ID's easy to get, it's the tag that's a pain in the ass.
Hmm... Just throwing an idea out but what about Interspace Commerce? Sure they're more about insurance than actual trading but considering you want to protect your transports as much as make money with them it seems a sure fit to me. Plus they are from liberty and have relations with all the major houses (stations near all capital planets). Think about that one.
I'd go for civilian ships, only civilian bomber... not havoc...
Capital ships... I guess noone would mind if you had just one zoner destroyer... for RP purposes...
Even better I'd suggest Trader ID...
In any case Zoner ID on a factionalized Trader's group is far from what i'd like to see. There are enough trains floating arount claiming to be zoners and such... Zoner ID should be for zoners alone, not a liberty trading faction.
I like the general Idea, traders with escorts and such... perfect!
The Havok IS a civillian bomber, made by Ageira a liberty company yes, but if you read about it, they WERE going to sell it to the military but decided they could make more on other markets (Publicly sold)
' Wrote:You use a Trader ID for your faction's traders and a military ID for your faction's escorts. See how that works?
We have zoner IDs because we are zoners who have left the MAIN group to form our own trade organisation, still, zoners. It doesn't say in the ID that Zoners have to remain neutral, and it says in the post that we are not Hostile unless the pirate clans wish to be.
Also, many policing factions look down on the generic military ID so thats not a very good idea
I don't like the idea of using the Zoner ID. It's a similar situation to the Harvesters and the Junker ID. When people see a Harvester doing something, they'll either think "That's how a harvester behaves" or "That's how a Junker can behave". If one group of Zoners goes around killing pirates, then other Zoner ID holders might think its allowed. According to the Zoner background, they aren't hostile with most pirates. They in fact shelter and trade with them. This means if a pirate is attacked by an ATA member, he might consider all Zoners as hostile and to be attacked. Either way, it's bad for the non-ATA Zoners.
I'm fairly sure Zoner freeports would not like a renegade group messing with their carefully-crafted neutrality.
Yes, well, the Zoner RP does though. If you buy a Liberty Navy ID, you have to roleplay like the Liberty Navy. You can't just say "Well, I'm part of a breakaway group and we're based in Rheinland" for example. If you are acting radically different from Zoners, why use their ID? Use trader/generic military instead.
Putting aside the ID arguements for now, there's still the matter of the tag. Can't have one without the other, so what would you suggest to replace it?
@ Cerberus: Next time PM me with your names, or use edit. No need to spam the feedback.
My trader "faction", now down to just me (a matter for another time), uses Trader ID and no tag. And yeah, I'm with Robert on this one.
Going without a tag is more of a problem for your fighters than your transports, but dropping a tag once in a while isn't hard, just a little time-consuming.
