What is point of this thread? You met criminal and he robbed you of half of your cargo, I see no problem there. You could end much worse, he could ask for all your cargo or for 10 or even 20 million credits instead, like some pirates do these days to ore traders (what is wrong in my opinion but it does not mean it is not happening).

I understand that it could be much worse, so I paid. Thief is a thief, but there must be a limit to it in the game, just as there are rules for honest.

If you're getting attacked by pirate transports, it'd be a good idea to invest in a battle transport and put a Capital Armor Upgrade VI on it with Charons. At least that way, you'll be able to fight pirate transports, even if bombers will still annihilate you.

I will follow your advice and create a character to make a test about said subject.

Can't imagine what would your reaction be if he demanded all your cargo.

There would be better to face and die with honor and return two hours later or move another route to the same charge. The loss would be the same, only to return to the start, gaining time.

We all know it's not fun to loose. Even pirates don't have fun loosing. If you're not able to defend yourself, there are some things you may give a try:

- short trading routes
-> ie. Erie (Passangers) to Manhattan (Liberty Ale) and back to Erie

- hiring an escort
-> ask bounty hunters or house security forces or freelancers to join your journey, 250.000 Credits per gate are fair

- negotiate with the pirate
-> scan him and watch his cargo bay, you don't need to give him more than he can carry
-> maybe you can give him money instead of your cargo, but give him a fair amount, so he will consider it
-> if you're a skilled gunner and have a tough transport ship like the bison, fight him
-> if you want to troll him, shoot your own cargo when he forces you to drop it (Edit: do this only if he's trolling you/bad-none roleplay)
-> you even can try to hire him as an escort

Most of us pirates change our demands regarding many factors. Shiptype. Cargotype. Roleplay quality. Faction/group/ID. Cargo amount. Player Rank.

A player who I know shoots his cargo or worse, says "kill me" or something along the line, will not really receive any good interaction back because I don't believe they are here to rp.

Actually try to look at the word. "roleplaying" Think yourself into your corporate employee and tell me again how you would rather risk death and not drop the cargo.

EDIT: I hope that, if you look at my main factions, you see that I am no pure pirate and look at the whole situation from nearly all points of view there are.
