Everyone has already made good suggestion, you need to adapt to it.

(It can get annoying, buy eventually you get to the point where you just now when the target had moved and your screen is lagging, etc.)

Anything I say is not intended as offensive, and to try and deliberately misinterpret it as such would be an attempt at trolling via misrepresentation.

It's not a conspiracy, it's localised bias. They're not intelligent enough to form a conspiracy.

@ Laowai: Actually, we have like the twelfth best internet in the world or something. The problem is we're so far from the rest of the bloody world that even with the best internet connections, we'd still have a higher ping than somebody sitting in Prague on his little wireless 56K dial-up connection. Maybe we should use explosives to move it further North or something?

For the Core.

I try and stick to bombers and stick to 1v1s or 2v2s, then i don't seem to lag to bad in fights.

As an added note, I'm surprised that there is this many Aussies on the server.

I never lag in big fights. My ping just increases 20ms above average. That is about it.

Its all about routing....So if you can change ISP maybe to something like satalight, or maybe an ISP closer to the server or routed directly there, would benefit you.

Not sure about what goes on over there internet wise.

Its all good advice here, apart from one glaring omission....

USE THE FORCE!

drag that fighter of yours up to connecticut and pvp until you have rsi in all your fingers, and you'll adapt to running 0.5 seconds behind everyone else. Eventually, you wont even notice it anymore.

On the good side, if your lagging, you're REALLY hard to hit (unless in a cap of course). so if you train train train you will be able to hold your own in a dogfight.

Orrrr...join the BPA! They stop smugglers in unarmed Hussars using their razor-sharp wits. No need for pvp expertise there...

With TPG ADSL2, getting 370-400ms ping.
Any fight with more than 4 fighters (including NPCs), I feel the urge to bug out...

Fly a transport and learn to hit the cruise button pronto....
Or connect to Disco USA server - usually <300ms ping...

The ping is just due to the distance from the server, it's sitting in Europe and the packets have to travel
over physical cable between so many routers all the way across the ocean! - takes time...
Once the mandatory Internet filter is in - thanks to the current Government, we all will be blessed with 20% higher ping times. <sarcasm>Looking forward to a great secure internet </end sarcasm>

I'm in New Zealand.

It takes my 400ms or point 4 seconds for my computer to process a packet, send it to my router...Send it to an Auckland exchange, then to a Wellington exchange, to my ISP.

From my ISP it goes though an inter-Continental pipe, to a regional exchange in Australia, to a regional exchange in Malaysia all the way to Europe to a regional exchange in Prague to a local exchange, to Mjkp's router to the server.

Where the data gets processed and sent back the same way all the way back to my computer again

0.4 seconds, and we complain?

EDIT: Mine is a total of 22 hops. in 345ms. I am hundreds of mines from my ISP.

Ok HOW do you know that you Packet does all that? I have a hard time understand where my wirelessthing sends it information to.

Well anyway i found the best way to win a PvP fight at some stage is to get a Gunboat and SPAM missiles at fighters ...... and when a bigger ship shows up run like hell and call for backup ...... it works for LN ..... a good RP is to pirate traders ...minimal contact with PvP (Unless the trader knows you lagg bad) and you get paid!

Ohh and People hate you what else could you ask! CAKE ...well umm yer but ....did i just talk to myself?

Unlike me, I'm pro at making it look like I actually have an opinion on the topic.
Except in this post.
I'm feeling rebellious.
