A BS doesn't need to turn against a fighter. What about turret view? That should be used in a sitaution like a fighter VS a battleship. (I'd hate to be that fighter to be fair)
I think the rule is to stop people from shooting their mouth off too much:P

I see it as a "You've started the fight, so you either finish it or GTFO away from each other for now. So no one has to suffer the slight bitching that sometimes ensues. Normally I see it from pirates that get confronted.
When I first got back I had forgotten about that rule, and used it to get some distance to then charge back, cut engines and missle spam the hell out of whoever I was fighting. Obviously that got me in trouble quite quick so I stopped, but as far as tactics go it's one I like, despite it being a longe range joust tactic. (Tailing is too much effort sometimes)

Actually when I am on my insane pirate and I am running (Yeah, I never die, I always run when it looks like I am loosing) in 90% of cases cops, navy, bh, etc launch cruise just a second after I do, or even when I thurst away (I really see no other reason how they can catch up with me when I am at speed 199, 6k away from them, and in 10 seconds, they are next to me, shooting on me...). I simply have to shake them off in asteroids or run till I get to base. If I should report them all, I would fill 10 reports a day, ... so I have just learned to ignore it and live with it.
I mean, we can remove the rule, most people ignore it anyways.
EDIT: And at least for me, it's no fun to play with finger on Printscreen.

To be honest, I kinda enjoy being chased by a pirate through 4 systems when they enage me, it makes it more fun for me. I know what you mean by having to hover on the print screen button, but if we were to report everything minor we saw we'd never get to enjoy the game.

Well, I can't say I enjoy being chased by dreadnaught and ten gunboats, but well. I generally dislike reporting, untill someone tells me "Go f**k urself with RP"...Well that actually happend, but nevermind.
If people had more moral and common sense we could remove a lot of rules.
But seriously, next time you engage me with your battlecruiser without a word, and then cruise after me, I WILL press the printscreen *Points on -you-*
