FLHook is a program that relatively anyone can get, not just the Admins here. I have a copy of it myself but frankly, aren't touching it till I finally finish some models:P
Basically, player ship jumping with 'jumpdrives' have been done, are done and are easy enough to do. If balanced correctly (Which would be easy for this kind of ship on it's own) there are almost no cons and all pro's.

Intresting, I like the idea of increasing size of the Trading Vessels.
They store large amount of cargo, so why not have them bigger than a Cruiser? Or the size of a Cruiser for that matter.
But, That's Battleship size hehe, I'd like to see a comparision to the Liberty/Bertonia/Kusari/Rehinland/Outcast/Zoner/Corsair/Order Battleship. Not all, Just one.
If you will.:DI'd be nice though. Just comparision.

It looks more like a stationary storage depot than any ship I've seen....

Nice concept, but a bit on the skeletal side, methinks. There's so much space inside it that it's not using at all.

Yes--the frame with the cargo pods can easily be walled and made a store space. Think of it more as a "deep space loading dock". I was trying to oversize it so it couldn't use lanes, keep cargo representative of the largest allowed and manage poly count. Its a "first draft".

The forty cargo pods shown are 5x the storage of an advanced train--adding more storage space would be obscene in Disco standards for a ship--as a station, no problem.

What I was thinking of doing was adding radar dishes and solar panels to "fill it in".

Unless it is re-sized, I am giving this a big "no". Ships like that would be a pain to RP.

They would be a pain to RP?
How exactly?

They would be fantastic crafts to actually have I think, since they actually have more RP possibilities than other ships may have. (Mobile bases, abandoned ships, general storage etc)

Sorry Brain confused. That ship would be hard to use. It would have to be really cheap for it to be worth it and it would also be have to be sized down so it can go to other systems.

It would probably end up like the Barge. Expensive and with a bloody massive cargo hold. It wouldn't fit in jumpgates or tradelanes and changing the scale messes with the cargo pods unfortunately, which is why I proposed the Jump drives idea. All the same, could just adjust the scale and pods differently and work like that. All I know is that there's a cat that goes mooo. Yesssss....moooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Woof?
