Cherry on top of the cake, is that for 2 days now, the Corsair council's been talking about and voting on a ceasefire with the HAF. We were talking to Sir Dark, and talked about what needs to be done.

Imprisoned because a few members of both factions were making underlevelled chars to entrap sanctions.

There are the Post of HAF, offers apologies for past mistakes, propossing peace, learning the RP very well, enjoying the game, these treadh was posted yesterday, as many of you knows, but i think, Perhaps the Admin did not see it or did not read it still, or maybe was the one ton of reports.. who knows.

This civil war was played in accordance to RP, of course, in each faction we have people who forget the manners in the battlefield for a second, you know, if one says to you " i hate you" you cant respont "i love you" hahahaha.

Otherwhise, the diplomatic negotiations continued their course beyond the battlefields and now we have the peace negotiations in table, there are the Council considering the message.
Perhaps two days of prison be useful for cooling the tensions of the war, for that does not seem so bad to me , we already needed a small rest.

Finally, the civil war has enriched the game for two weeks, was funny and has also allowed us knowing more to our playmates.

Problem with "civil war" on Disco RP is that you actually need to set the "line of fire" somehow.

In this case it would be imo ideal to say that:

Brotherhood, Benitez and OPG "own" Gamma - being the 3 official factions in the dispute
while
HAF is based on for example Leon

(off course both could fly to get ships/equipment in first place)

that would remove a lot of issues with "leaving system after dying" or "ooc in system chat".

As to the way this was handled... well a discussion with both leaders either private or public first would be a better solution IMO.

Now, honestly, I can understand if the two sides were simply filing sanction reports against one another and nothing else, but why prisonrape two groups just for RP'ing a civil war? Seriously? In this futuristic world we all pretend to live in, does everyone born a corsair automatically agree with every other corsair in existence, are they bound by some psychic link that prevents them from arguing or fighting amongst one another?

Corsairs are PIRATES, they're not some mighty empire, they're a faction full of dirty, hungry, criminal psychopaths that are just as likely to attack one another as they are to attack the enemy when any form of reward is involved. When's the last time you heard the term "honor among pirates"? You dont, because it doesnt exist.

I see no problem at all with two factions RP'ing a civil war between each other, but apparently doing anything on this server that isnt strictly "canon" RP is grounds for sanction, castration, and imprisonment for all eternity.

The war was declared as over as it has brough up more snaction reports, ooc bad blood, interpersonal agression and hassle than anything else I have ever seen.

Now, if a war started largely because the players didn't get on with one another is good roleplay in your eyes then I think you're a little mistaken.

I believe the correct answer to this, Tenacity, is that they weren't JUST RP'ing a civil war. While I laughed...it's insulting and needed to go away.

I'm a quasi-interested bystander to this. It's pretty obvious that there was a 'clan' - the HAF - that moved in all at once, and did a 'hostile takeover bid' for Gamma. The established groups said not only no, but hell, no. There is a lot of potential for both groups here to Role Play in the future, as long as the PLAYERS behind the RP actually remember that it's a game and don't try to bend and/or break the rules OF the game.

Now, could this have been settled peacefully in the first place? Sure. Did it happen. Nope. Did Mule and the other members of the appropriate families GENERALLY respond within their own RP context on doing things? Actually, yes. Did they actually, finally, work something out? Again, yes.

However - and this is the big thing - were some of the actual server rules broken by BOTH sides in doing so? And again, the answer is yes. Your sarcastic remarks are not helpful in the least.

I guess your name is a good one in that respect - Tenacity - in that you're being tenacious in this. However, that also normally indicates a desire to find something that is valued or desired - and I suppose if you're wanting to actually CAUSE strife on here, then you're to be applauded. Otherwise, give it a freaking rest and both grow and shut the hell up.

Tenny, I think everyone involved will admit that this has gotten very personal between the OPG and HAF. Whether this is the way to deal with it is one question, but suggesting this is just admins trying to quash RP is ridiculous. You could discuss whether this was the right action to take, but it was done in response to a problem, not in an attempt to ruin RP.
