One: It would seem that everyone but the Phantoms have ships either open for them or made exclusivly for them (i.e, the Manta, the MkII Dagger, Viper, etc.). Another part of this is that one would think, Phantoms being backed by an interstellar empire, they would receive a few ships of their own.
Two: While the Xeno ID works, it's a bad fit. Phantoms arn't Xenos. In fact, the Xeno's would realy hate the Phantoms because we're all "furriners" and realy strange ones at that. Thus, I thought a new ID would be necissary. And with that came the idea to make a realy perminant base of operations. I like the look of Tekgie's base as well, plus just about nobody actually uses that system save to go through some of the jumpholes, and those are few and far between.
If there are other answeres to these issues, please help us find them. I'm open to suggestion.
This is the real true story of rock and roll; it was not about anything more then, how to live your life, as a gangster, in sartorial splendor, and turning the world into a place where normality would never return again...- Malcolm McLaren
Well it looks like we're not going to get it, unless we buy a system and have a dockable version of the arch in it.
The only ID that would actually fit the phantoms RP would be the nomad one, which would mean (assuming we're allowed to use the nomad ID, which is about as likely as hell freezing over) we'd have to do a big RP event and story about how everyone finds out what the phantoms are really upto.
It would also mean that the phantoms base would have to sell all the weapons and ships we'd no longer have access to (because you can't loot them, or buy them cos they won't let us land, etc), so it won't be happening anytime soon.
(If you find any mistake in my English, please let me know via a PM)
(Really, I speak terrible English, so please, tell me if I make mistakes. I'd like to improve it a bit )
Hmm... I see only one problem with that. As soon as we decide on one, just about every lawful or semi-lawful faction will send fleets to "destroy" it. Somehow it won't matter that it's on the very outskirts of Sirius, they'll find it.
And then comes the question of what ships would go there. I would like to have new ships that would, in essence if not in reality, be created specifficly for the Phantoms. The Nomad ships, while good, just don't compare with the other VHFs that we see in our home (Namely the Manta and Viper).

Yes, I need to say something about what should be done here. Preferably you should choose a system somewhere, possibly near original system (no one would like to travel through many empty systems to reach it). You may even place a dockable arch in it, why not, just give me the code for the base.
As for ID... well, I'm not planning to create nomad bases, so I may make some kind of phantom ID if you want it so much. Just don't want to add new factions for this, and your home base will still be affiliated to some existing faction. I guess you'll have to choose here... I dunno, Zoners, Junkers, IMG or something. Something neutral.
And no guardians for your system, hope you understand that. Not now, at least.
Quote:but how a nomad base should look like, I hardly even imagine
Correct me if Im wrong, but isn't there a Nomad base in one of the omnicron majors, the one that trent, Juni, and king went to, to steal the Nomad power supply from. In the game missions. could that Base not be made dockable?
theres also the planet, just above the Dysons Sphere intrance, just floating there, it's already a nomad system, could that planet not be made a nomad planet, with one of the nomad bases sitting guard on the jump gate into the system?
I cannot give a nomad base the 'human' look on the inside, and there are no alien room models in Freelancer. And no alien NPCs, we can use robots of course, but they are all humanoid too. Nomads, as you can remember from SP campaign, are NOT humanoid.
