I mean this might be a dumb question from me, but like...

If the opposing faction is not going to play by the event and the PoB is not owned by the Liberty Navy, what's even the point?
To me this looks like an ordinary third-party PoB siege, because without the approval of all parties you cannot really organize engagements in advance.
Who is to say which days or hours the other party is going to log?

Furthermore, I am not active as Technocracy or in Kansas, so I have no idea what the event description even means.
I will give you some examples:

I am curious as to why the Navy is defending the outpost, since your write-up does not clarify why the Navy would not just tear down everything in Kansas.

For Gaians, it is clear - they want to keep the powers in check, protecting what's left of the pristine areas. The Liberty Rogues will no doubt want to make their presence known.
[...]

I do not understand why you are being so vague. There has to be a concrete reason to come to Kansas, right? For example: I am not sure if Gaians just pursue a "balance of power", given the fact they are terrorists. And the Rogues are just coming to show off? It gives off the impression Freelancers, The Technocracy, Gaians, Rogues, Bounty Hunters and Navy are just thrown into the pot. But from what I can tell this is between Quantum, its mercenaries and the Technocracy?

Can you tell me why? I may be living under a rock here, but what is so important about this PoB? I mean the post kinda admitted its non-importance just one paragraph before.

As this massive power struggle looms over the horizon, an insignificant independent outpost, the Quantum, in the orbit of planet Topeka now serves as a backdrop for a conflict to come, where the powers of the adjacent systems test each others' resolves.

If you are going to do this, you'll have to explain this situation, because I do not understand any of this.
I am not trying to hate by the way, since everyone should be entitled to go and engage whoever they want (within the rule set), but as an event this just looks and feels out of place, maybe I am overthinking it xD .

I'll gladly abuse my newly acquired Sturgeon to put an end to that blasphemy.

1) Navy can't let foreign power take control. Rather than defending the outpost they care about an organized hostile organization flexing in areas they just left.
2) gaians don't want anyone there, they might observe, they might attack the base, who knows
3) base is not the pivotal point, the fact that Navy just spent thousands of lives and billions on liberating Kansas from a hostile force and another one moves in would just be unacceptable, risking to create what they just worked hard to stop.

The base is just the spark, a small piece that the sides use as a backdrop for their conflict, who will seize power if anyone. Navy will care little if the base dies, they will care about Auxesia is trying to exert influence and take control of the system.

Last I checked you're a canonised NPC faction. However a player interperts the NPC faction can mean no wrong, only misinformation propaganda, which the Freelancer universe is no stranger to.

This is just a very poor defense attempt of said POB masquerading as a roleplay event.
So the alternative is nothing at all and just ooRPly organising? It's a stout effort, I'll give him that. Not many would go to these lengths just for an infamous gameplay mechanic - POB Sieges.

Poor form to assume narcissism when it's clear he's organising a defending side for what is essentially a one-guy-operation POB.

If the sole intent is this then an entire event premise is wholly unnecessary. But even then he'd be somewhat hard pressed to openly defend the POB outside Liberty's legal jurisdiction, since that's where protection of the law also terminates.

Nothing stops anybody from responding to the comm regarding the siege and acting accordingly. But if you're going to make it an event-scale premise then the bare minimum is to at least talk to representatives of the other factions you want to involve. If doing the bare minimum in that regard feels problematic, then surely it would be simpler to just respond to the comm and act accordingly. (Which I already stated previously)

This adequately addresses your "no u" - have a day.

I don't see how this event is any different from posting a Discord event in a liblawful Discord or two to defend a PoB from Liberty's enemies. Sure, there's no real reason for Liberty to give a damn about the PoB, but they certainly would appreciate Liberty's enemies all lining up nicely to be shot as they attempt to siege it. That's a very easy roleplay angle to defend Liberty showing up.

Is this event particularly necessary? No, not really. Is it offensive? Nope.

And nothing stops you from ignoring this experimental thread does it? Play or don't play, read or don't read, there's no need to overthink it Smile Now let's have some dinner and later some pews y'all, we'll see if this will make people come who otherwise wouldn't on either side Big Grin

I don't think Liberty is supposed to defend an independent PoB located outside house space. Not like the base had any amicable relationship with the lawfuls when it is openly dealing with stuff like the Order and Corsairs.
