Thats it, it just seems like an unfair balance of power falling onto Liberty that shouldn't really be there.

in that case - i think the others might need to learn how to fight it better...

the lib BC was balanced and balanced and balanced just like every other capital warship during the one year closed beta phase against its most likely enemies as well as other ships of a similar class.

the lib BC is good - but its not godly. - it has its weaknesses like every other ship of its class.

its a bit like the BHG BC. - when you re allowing it to face you all the time, it WILL blow you up - until you learn about its weaknesses... which will not suddenly make it easy to fight it - but gives you an advantage - until the BHG BC learns to fight your tactic again.

that is what "skill" in cap-fights means... knowing your ship and the enemy and its weapons well. - the lib BC is a good example of a defensive and all-round battlecruiser ( similar to the IMG BC ) - it is not very large but has weaknesses, too... and these weaknesses can be exploited by those factions that fight it very well ( rogues: barghest / rheinland: 2 different bombers )

Hum, I didn't realise there was such a big LABC population. Today we fought three Assault Carriers, two Siege Cruisers and two Gunboats. Not a single Battlecruiser to be seen. Those things are far too easy to kill in a bomber, their weapons are designed for a Cruiser sized vessel, yet they are much much bigger. Leaves lots of gaps to fly through.

No, it can't. It may be strong but it lacks speed, as it has no thruster. It's like a miniature battleship, and probably every cruiser in game can take it out, if not piloted by someone who's first time in cap.

we ganged up on a bc before the second fight (that Ajax guy, who re-engaged). that was the fight where the aurora and the whitehall ran off to regroup with more caps. funny how people think that the perfect counter for a bomber fleet is more caps.:D

I've just been thinking that the BC would explain the amount, not that i've really seen many to give evidence to my theory. Maybe it's a combination of that, the fact you start of in Liberty and the fact thats lots of people are from America and want to do some role-play their really used to.

That was a BC? I thought it was a carrier. Bah, they look the same.

Yes, but still pick random cruiser, and take him to 1 v 1 fight with Liberty BC, considering both pilots will have similar skill, there is no real way how the cruiser can win, unless you plant them in asteroid field or under similar "terrain" special conditions (except for Kusari cruiser, from my experience, but as said, it's more like big gunboat).

It's not superior or anything, but whole BC class is a bit strange, as they can take on any cruiser there is, talking about Liberty one just because it's a bit overused maybe.

Does anyone have any figures for cruisers? Because the wiki for cruisers and battleships hasn't been updated yet and I was hoping to get some figures to compare some cruisers to the Lib BC.

Every house doesnt need a battlecruiser, but every house could use two types of cruisers.

sort of 'heres your single cruiser, now lump it!'

Kusari's destroyer is too tiny and they havent got a remotely heavy cruiser. Rheinlands cruiser is practically a battlecruiser and it probably could do with being stat'd like one, provided they were given a lighter cruiser to replace the thruster loss. Bretonia is sort of strange, the bret destroyer isnt huge, but its heavy, they could use a really light cruiser or a BC. Liberty already has two types, which makes it better than the other three houses, on top of having two BS (light and heavy).

Hell, it was someones bright idea that Zoners and Order should have more types of capital ships than houses, with two cruisers and two BS for the zoners, and order with two cruisers. Bounty hunters have two cruisers also, less noticable is the two rheinland unlawful cruisers.

could just be a case of 'they've got more than me' but the lack of variety is true for certain factions, which can lead to skewed popularity. Extending beyond just ships, certain factions getting lots and lots of bases while others get screwed over, can lead to skewed popularity.

(dont get me started on guard zones, im going to have to say that everyone should recognise that they're all OORP and non canon and black them out).
