What RP did you use?

doesn't matter. If you pay a pirate and they kill you anyway, it's PvP abuse and sanctionable.

Also, if you are pirated, run/dock and bring back another ship to engage said pirate, that's also against the rules and sanctionable.

BOTH scenarios are wrong.

what about if someone asks you to set your cashcode to "gift" so they can give you money...

I know its dumb to do but there are alot of people who don't know what a cash code is...

This happened to me when I was making a new character and the scammer assumed I was a new player and offered to give me money... He said he could only do it if I set my cashcode to "Gift".

Anyone know if that is allowed or if its your fault for being stupid?

Give his name to the LR. They don't like indie Barghests.

I think if you asked someone for a cargo transfer, from two characters at the same base and they took the stuff and ran, I think thats breakin a rule, not sure tho

Wow. That kind of pirate must have found the best way to make easy money!

"Hey starflea, set your cashcode to "gift" so I can get your money. hahaha I am so brilliant. hahaha...uhm I mean so I can give YOU the money. hahaha.....hick yarrr!"

Making 8000 credits per starflea should make him millionare in a year.

Lets say half a year, if he desicovers half the way, that he just needs to make a new char to get 8000 without doing anything *laughs*

Quote:2.1 Following actions are considered cheating on server:

- Using non-Discovery mods, speed-related and loot-related mods especially, as well as using modifications that improve stats of items and ships;
- Changing account information and using any kinds of software that changes normal gameplay;
- Using any equipment not included for sale/looting in Discovery mod, cloaks for example;
- Using equipment that exceeds ship specs;
- Cloning, e.g. creating new characters to collect starting money.

[color=#ffff33]6.19 Pirates have a right to deal as much damage as they see fit before or after demanding money from a trader ship, but killing trader ship before demanding money or cargo is not allowed. "Halt" is not a demand that justifies destroying a trader.

6.6 PvP combat is allowed only on roleplay basis. The pilot who is attacking must scan for an ID prior to the attack. Relying on general reputation status (red/neutral/green) without scanning for the ID is not allowed.

Non-RP attacks are considered PvP abuse and are sanctioned accordingly.
6.17 Owners of Pirate IDs have a right to attack:

- Military/Police
- Bounty Hunters
- Trader ships that do not pay for passage
- Unfriendly pirates

Making new characters just to get their money - bad...

Attacking traders that have paid and actually destroying them - not allowed. Blowing your weapons turrets off after you pay, they can do that, and some will.

HAHA how about pay up 999,999,999 credits or boom? Is that pvp abuse? Methinks it should be set to a % of the profits for the run but anywayz...

So this rule is really open to abuse, most of the pirates I've interacted with are reasonable and they strive for a win - not too badly lose situation, but there are some.

Anywayz back to topic. If the setcashcode scam happens, he can MILK THEM LIKE A COW. Wait till they get rich and then draw all the cash. Then if the victim doesn't realise and goes OMG ALL MY CASH IS PWNZERZ the scammer can draw more and more cash. While it is the victim's fault for being stupid you don't expect newbs to know everything eh?

Nice one on your back on topic thingy, you just said something that made no sense with what has been said before.
Reading 2 pages of posts is not long at all so you should have read before posting.

And everyone isnt stupid enough to ask for a so huge amount of money for the simple reason that getting money from a trader is always more profitable than blowing it up.

And yes, blowing a trader after he pays is against the rules.
Like the fact of coming back with a OC Sabre to PWNZOR him after.
