Some ships do break the feel a little but I am all for keeping them, they are here and we may as well make do. I would however like to see some of the Homeworld ships retextured. Just the ones that are commonly flown, such as what is being down for the Outcast Cruiser.

There are also some other well know ships from various series that if textured properly would fit perfectly into FL. an example is the Rodger Young from Starship Troopers. I personally think it would make a perfect civilian cruiser.

Or in another thread I posted this ship which would be awesome for Bretonia because it has very similar lines and shapes. It would just need to be coloured correctly.

Star Trek stuff, thankfully, isn't present, but they would truly ruin it.

I'm afraid that there are two star trek ships in discovery. The Kusari Luxury Liner and the Talacra are both trek vessels. The Kusari Cruise Liner is a Jem' Hadar Battleship (I assure you there is nothing luxury about it) and the Talacra cruiser belongs to a minor species in a few TNG episodes, but unlike the previous ship, it suits the blood dragoons just fine and looks kusarish.

And the Bounty Hunter BS, I would like to know where it is from. I know it is not star wars (I got really bored and compiled a personal encyclopedia of star wars ships) and I think it might be an original design based on star wars influence. But is someone knows please tell me, This is freaking plaguing me.

I don't think that the Rodger young would make a good civilian ship, civilian materials tend to be smooth and rounded and pleasing to the eye, the RY tends to have a very, 'I was made for fighting', purpose built feel to it IMO.

The Second one, now that like it'd make a very nice Bretonian Assault Barge.

And you are of course right about the Talarca and Kusari Liner, but the more mainstream ships (Federation, borg, etc) would Ruin it

I say we should keep the ships... just work on them a bit. A mean look at the X-shuttle that for sale at the Kusari bases - somethings up with its hud (and yes, I know it's a very low-class-for-nubie-starter ship, but it's still a ship).

Or per say F Wolf's comments on the Procurator Battlecruiser...

They all have potential - just needs a bit more work.

IMHO, the ships should stay.

I understand & agree that all the basic motieff's should be followed, but I like having as broad a range of ship choices as possible. For example, I have no issues that my characters' ship doesn't match the Gaians in any way...I just figure from an RP perspective that, if my guy finds something he likes & wants or needs...as long as it's there, he's gonna use it. The RP almost plays ITSELF out.

I also think that Star Wars AND Star Trek are far too popular to be allowed as ship choices.
But, the more obscure ships that only the uber geeks would recognize would be cool:)

All that being said...my next 2Cents that I wanna throw in is:

I would love to see someone put in a Firefly-Class Freighter-
[attachmentid=2816]
(it reminds me of the Starflea)

& this (from 'Space: Above & Beyond') would be PERFECT as a Gaian VHF-
[attachmentid=2817]
(tell me it doesn't look like a 'Hawk'...I dare ya:))

Silly Question: When people offer $$$ in the posts to someone for making the models & skins...we're talking REAL $$$ & not just a shipload of server credits...right?

Look up the artist on the bottom of that image. He may be willing to give over his mesh that was made for that image. If he is it is a simple matter to get one of the modders to convert it from 3D studio or whatever into something usable for FL.

Wrong. Three. The Corsair Huntress Cruiser is a super-sized version of the Klingon Bird of Prey.

But anyways... I have a simple solution to the replacing problem. Each time a new model comes out, simply attach exactly the same number and type of hardpoints that the old one had, take a copy of the old one's package and hull and everything and put in the new model, raise the price of the old one up to exactly double the price of the new one, lower the old one's hull to something really low, remove the old one from sale everywhere, and put the new one up for sale where the old one was.

Yes, I got this idea from the old Corsair BS removal, but as you can see, I messed with it quite a bit.

What do ya'll think?
