You should be very careful about how you address me Politus, it seems you calling me a fool is not a very wise move especially since I am a member of DHC-. Miners can easily revolt against any treaty that pressures or oppresses them into a state of silence!
If this is a treaty then it must be open to interpretation from both sides such that it can ameded to suite all parties and Im afraid the clause does not suite the interests of all in the omegas.

You Colonials are immigrants and as such have setup a squatters base of operations in the middle of what is infact Rheinland Space where you must have no juristiction over any rheinlander let alone the Final Word.

To say that everyone in Omega 7 must obey CR orders is a direct violation of Rheinland Law as it puts you in direct competition with the RM for autonomy over its citizens. And we rheinland common miners will follow no order from NO CR Spick!
I would advise you further not to threaten me with violence as this all can turn quite easily the other way. There are ghosts in rheinlands fleet that will take very seriously any threats against rheinlands good citizens with Morbid consequences. Enough souls have been lost already let us not loose anymore! Also revolt is a powerful tool the common miner has against military hoards like yours. Respect is key for this peace deal to work!

//Politus please do not metagame by insulting me inrp when clearly our chars do not know eachother, maybe someone else from CR should speak for them !//

[color=#999900]From: Department of press and communications.
[color=#FFFFFF]First DHC wants to say that the captain Rocksplitter doesn't not represent the opinion of all Daumann, but his own only.

During the discussion employees of Daumann were able to voice their concerns about any clause, and we don't have record of this captain doing it when he could.

Now to explain what the clause 2 means. It doesn't means we are gonna take orders from the Colonial Remnant, it means they will be in charge of taking neutral decisions in situations of conflict between the IMG and DHC.
We know that the CR are allies of IMG, but by the treaty they are forced to act in total neutrality, else the termination of the treaty by DHC immediately; simple as that.

Anyways we think that a RM observer could be an option to bring some extra balance in case the CR takes a biased decision, but rest assured that we will not keep our arms crossed if the CR favors the IMG in a decision supposed to be neutral

given that my Boss has made his Air of caution known about the questionable Neutrality of CR in all this.

I sign this treaty and will act within accordance of it.
I remain sceptical about Cause 2 and its true meaning thus let it be known that I take orders directly from my boss and noone else

To: Daumann employee

Daumann workers, not need to be scared, Rheinland Military don't give up this system. We make patrols often in Omega systems and we will in the future. Better if you take this viewpoint: the Colonial forces are there for protecting you from hessians and corsairs. They granted the mining fields safety. They don't let noone into your mining field especially not IMG miners.

I personally understand your fear. Daumann and IMG are competitors and now seems like IMG got a huge reinforcement. But dont forget, we are there too. If we see, how =CR= forces do something else than protect this agreement, they will leave Omega 7. We can grant it. Rheinland Government never let their citizens in trouble.

Why good trading with Barge? For this:

My thanks to The Department of Press and Communications for that clarification regarding Article Two.
Your answer sounds more acceptable than what I had once considered.

However, now I ask for your clarification of Article One, Paragraph 3.
What do you define as: "A reasonably sized Defensive force"?

INCOMING TRANSMISSION
Comm ID: Secretary Politus Aquila

Greetings, Director Kynolm. I understand that you may be confused regarding that particular clause. Reasonable is, after all, a subjective term. However, as a rule of thumb, maintain enough of a defense force to protect IMG assets against pirate forces. Fighters, bombers, and gunboats, for the purpose of maintaining patrols in your mining fields, around Freistadt, and to protect convoys.

Of course, a fleet of capital ships is... out of the question. After all, it's not as if you're fighting a full-scale war down there. These aren't the Taus.

Thank you for your time,

Understood.
With this information that has been provided, I feel more comfortable with this Treaty now.
I appreciate the information and discussion you people have provided.
However, I believe we still require our Primary Director's signature.

Either way,
For mutual Prosperity for all parties involved, I hereby sign and approve the aforementioned "Treaty of Omega 7"

I'm glad we were able to work this out, once and for all, hopefully.
Good day you to gentlemen!

Zane sat on the edge of his seat in his small office on Freistadt, staring at the paper in front of him. Daumann was... more brutal than he had thought. Things had escalated faster than he could have ever imagined. Omega 7 was almost on the verge of open war once again. And despite the fact that he found himself the leader of a group of miners with power and influence growing by the day, Zane was scared. He gave off the appearance of a tough guy because he had to, but deep down he was afraid that what had happened to him would happen to others. Daumann violence is the swift and awful kind; silent bombings, no warning, no words, simply destruction.

Despite what he had vowed when a Daumann attack killed his parents, Zane realized that the best solution was to reach for peace, and at the very least take the moral high ground...

To that affect, he sent out a message that he never thought he would send...

Now then, What do I see here? The great corporation of Kruger Minerals is completely ignored in this all-encompassing treaty. I'll have you know, that Kruger Minerals is one of the largest stake-holders in the mine-fields of Omega Seven, and we have a base in the region to collect ores, and process them.

Might I know why Kruger Minerals is completely ignored in this treaty. Last I saw, our miners operated many of the available fields in the region, competing with the Independent Miners Guild and the Daumann Heavy Corporation.

I await your answer.

Ah, Mister Heidrich. I won't try and put you off. To be blunt, there was no way to contact Kruger at the time of the treaty. (//there wasn't a real "kruger" active) Also, this treaty was formed primarily to stop hostilities between IMG and DHC. Since there was no issue with Kruger, since Kruger has always behaved itself, then there is no need for a treaty, correct? Whether you have territorial qualms with IMG or not, I'm certain you can solve in private, but this was primarily formed to solve infighting between the lawful inhabitants.

Perhaps if Kruger had made itself known at the time when I sent out my initial transmission regarding O-7, to the heads of the lawful factions in O-7 the treaty would look different.

So no, there are no discrepancies concerning the circumstances. Kruger representatives were unavailable, ergo Kruger doesn't come up in the treaty. Regrettable, but perhaps you should have said something before the treaty talks started.

Signed,

//not our fault that there was no organized Kruger faction to consult, or at least an active one. You could talk to IMG about a private treaty, since they're the ones you really have territorial qualms with.
