Well there is the issue of numbers, the Junker players heavily outnumber the Hogosha players. So that does help a little.
Also, I'd prefer this discussion primarily take place between Junker and Hogosha players, as it primarily effects them. The GMG would only be involved in the aftermath, in helping the Junkers take over the Hogosha base in Okinawa. If the Hogosha lost that is.
Early stages of an idea, we posted it here for discussion between the parties involved.
Quote:EDIT: Freighter battle would be fun, but it'd not make sense. D:
Why not? Both of these factions focus quite heavily on smuggling and black market activities, just because they have fighters available doesnt mean that the bulk of the faction's members would be using them. The way I see it, the fighters and other combat craft are there to keep some semblance of security around the bases, but when it comes to overall numbers and "fleet power", the transports and freighters are where it's at.
Besides, we've never really done a transport-centric pvp event before, it would be interesting to set this up on the restart event server where players can have immediate access to the transports mentioned in my last post for combat use. No one has to worry about fighters or bombers or capships, and the transports are much better balanced against one another.
Thing with that, though, is that junker ships WERE designed with a purpose in mind. The low firepower and poor maneuverability is made up for with ludicrous b/b reserves. The damn things were made to shieldrun and call for help, live long enough for help to arrive from 3 systems away and then shoot you in the back while you're busy fighting a Sabre or something.:P
What I'm getting at is that... killing 20 of the things? You'll need to sleep eventually.
Keep in mind that if we lose Kamakura, the Hogosha will only have Kabukicho in New-Tokyo as a station, while the Junkers will still have tons of stations to use.
