Exactly! Which is why we need to bolster current weapon stocks with new weapons that can help add variety and spice into the weapon systems. Its so boring when everyone just SNAC's or Nova's. No style...
EDIT: @Zoey
I'm unsure if torpedoes can be anti-graviton since they're 'neutral' in the shield types. But it would be interesting.
Thank you Fletcher, I have also been craving like mad for missiles and torps to be useful again. I'd give up every snac I had for torps and missiles. I want Bombs on my Bomber. =) And heck, I'd like effective missiles on my fighters.
(Also, I only have 2 bombers, and only have Snac by merit of necessity.

Make the Atlas like these. Simply awe-inspiring weapons, you can see them arc into the hull, see the massive result, and they have a large-enough model to possibly be intercepted and shot down by a fighter.
Actually - the idea of a Cap Torp with a large model is a really good one.
A true Cruise Missile - with a complete tracking radius so it can turn around and follow a target if it misses, but do so slowly!
If people really want to start spicing up munitions (missiles and such) - then maybe consider giving munitions a cargo value?
This way - smaller ships could carry the same size torps as a bomber (or even a capital ship) - but less of them, as they would be balanced by their cargo holds.
Look at a Tomahawk Cruise Missile - what is the difference between one that is carried by a fighter jet, a strategic bomber and a naval frigate?
The answer is of course NONE, just that the different vessels carry different numbers of them. Cargo stats could be adjusted slightly, so that two bombers or SHFs might carry as much as 4 VHFs, or 6 HFs. It means that Freighters could be made into missile boats simply by assigning the correct guns and ammo.
It also means that munitions could be made into tradeable commodities in their own right!
I hate not seeing missiles thrown arround the battlefield, but lag and the battleship sheild hitbox thing are a bit of a problem.
Ouote Friday "If people really want to start spicing up munitions (missiles and such) - then maybe consider giving munitions a cargo value?"
I'd love to see this happen, although whenever this has been brought up, it seems to be a less than popular option.
I want new capital class torpedoes, the Nova's Starkillers and Sunslayers are great enough for fighters and bombers I believe. Takes skill and luck for them to be used correctly.
These maybe other new ones would give some more specialization to the capital fleets of the Sirius system. Just guns is a bit bland, what ever happened to capital ships launching warheads at each other to win?
