I assume that adding some generic IFF's would make RP a little easier and add a little diversity, since we're being forced to choose a faction IFF we may not belong too.

Hypothetically these IFF's would be up to you like normal, they wouldn't be force linked to an ID. Smuggler IFF does seem to be counter productive, but thats one out of the others.
