Quote:Nope, I tried it plenty of times. You can't kill a ship that teleports in random areas around you every 3 seconds.

It is possible, frustrating and requires a lot of time and patience, but it can be done.

Being from New Zealand out lag is 400+ Average, and I have never had anyone complain about the lag on my side, again, requires patience.

Quote:one thing you shouldnt do is whine about it later. people won't move to germany from australia so that you can have a better gaming experience.

Well said. I like New Zealand, and am not going to move halfway around the world to get better game play.

Best thing for people with Lagg to do is to avoid fights untill it isnt so bad:)

My lag seldom is an issue for me, because I don't get much loss. So I basically hop around, and lagsnipe people if I -do- end up lagging.

Though, most days I can have a 400+ ping and no lag/loss whatsoever. It's just my radiant awesome.

Apparently I have the sucky sort of lag then.

' Wrote:It is not so much as the ping as the loss impact on your connection. However, I cannot say that it would give you an edge in combat as it makes you slide in straight lines for the opponent and if it is a bomber then it might turn out very odd for you.

Perhaps a trader could use this to lag through downed tradelanes, but apart from that there is nothing else to gain from it.
When you lag, you drop slightly behind them, so you bounce around and -they- slide about. It's fun.

I do...if they refuse to acknowledge that and are like "lololol I don't care, die by my time and space-bending lag!!1"
All I am asking for is more understanding from their side. Fleeing out of these fights is no option either, because after that most of them pin you down with "olol you fled, 4 HOURZ!!1"

When I lag, it usually manifests as the other ship teleporting -just- past my SNAC.

Or their shield regenerating, though I can't see it, and my SNAC hits it.

Then I die to a mine.

It's true, it has always been a problem.
And recently, more and more people are lagging around.
Yesterday, one guy even told me I'm teleporting like mad.
I immediately pinged myself and noticed my ping is 100, lag 0%, but fluct was around 8.
So, what is this fluct anyway?

Also, yesterday I fought a Sabre that was lagging like hell, and he could hit me no problem, taking half of my hull in one pass without even seeing him shooting at me.
He's just jumping around, forth and back, and all of a sudden I have a hull breach.
It doesn't matter that I strafe and dodge like mad, I get hit and that's it.

So, basically, I agree with the first post.
When someone tells you you are teleporting around, you should not use it to your advantage.
I'm not saying you should die, but you should stop your engagement if the other party is also willing to stop.

Not to mention that Sabres jump around no matter what. Add to that some lag and, of course, some krakens/nomad lasers and you get an ultimate pwnzor ship. Yayks.

talk is cheap people. just do a /ping and /pingtarget prior to engagement. if something is wrong, just send an oorp pm to the other person, that they / you have heavy lags and resolve the situation somehow. i experienced a lot of engagements ending in draw because of this. it's good sportsmanship, nothing more.
