I wish the Avenger and the Guardian had six gunports, but I guess it technically does if you count the fully-functional turret. An 800m shieldbuster turret? Can't go wrong.
And yes, I do use gunpairs.. I'll switch off shieldbusters when fighting capitol ships and so on. I tried the following configuration earlier with pretty good results;
With this setup, I was able to down a GB's shield by 50% in one run before my power drained out. Not bad really, but you see since the Guardian only supports five guns, I can only mount the ARCHANGEL on the left or right side of the ship without separating my gun pairing. This sucks because it means that ARCHANGEL is somewhat limited only being able to fire from the left or right side of the ship. I can't put it in the center like I would want, sadly. I suppose I'll have to cope..
Well I have every single codie in the game (I think). My favorite is and always will be the Excaliburs. Although some of the new ones are nice too. I especially like the uhhhhhhh....... oh bullocks, I cant remember the name now. But if I remember correctly every fighter I own has the following setup:
2X Excalibur
2X Nomad Blaster
1X Adv Debilitator (Tizonas for my Corsair and Zoner chars and a _______ for my Outcast char(cant remember the name right now))
1X Mini Razor
Seems to work splendidly for me in most cases.

This setup has worked for me loads of times. I used to have Twilight and Prometheus with my other two codes, but the energy drain was too much and the crosshair was very inaccurate, so I sold those for 5 mil altogether and kept the two I have now.
