It would also give a good reason for people to buy good capital armors. Not only do you have more HP, but you'd recover more HP per sec, which would make you less vulnerable to fighters while keeping balance versus bombers.
I think 1 second per credit is a bit much. Its not unusual for my ship to take $100,000 damage in a shoot out. Thats just under 28 hours waiting for it to repair ...

Which was my point about the bomber and SNAC.
It'd cost about three million to repair. That's about 34 days.

People, stop doing that.
I'm sure the numbers were used as an example. Discuss the concept, not the values. I'm sure it wouldn't be set to take a month.
Yup 1 second per cred is harsh. Dancing ladys 1 second per .1% would be much better. So not based on price, just damage %. so full repairs now is 1000 seconds. No matter what the ship is,for each item mind you. BS's would still take more time then fighters,as they have more items on them. But would still be only a few hours. This would be better then a BS landing, repairing, and popping back out in 10 seconds.
Good discussion. keep it coming.

You mean go outside and fly my space ship ?:P
On topic : The idea is very good, indeed. But as it as already been pointed out, 1 second per credit sounds too much. I don't think it would be hard to find a balanced percentage-based formula.

Not even, since .1% for a fighter and .% for a BS would still be the same % wise. They'd get repaired at the same rate.
EDIT: .1% means it'd take 16 minutes 45 seconds for a ship to repair entirely. I'd say 15 minutes would be fairer. I suck at calctulating that kinda stuff, though.
EDIT 2: Consider that 16 minutes 45 seconds is if you flee with 0% hull left. If you flee with 25% left, it'd already take 1/4 less time to repair.
EDIT 3: With a 0.111125% repair rate, it'd take exactly 15 minutes for ship to repair.
See 15 minutes. Not so bad. Plus who says you even have to repair. Can still just restock, and fly back to fight.
@dancing lady. 15 minutes per item is what i was thinking. So 1 item repairs at a time,as you can select/deselect repairs. But all at same time works too.
