Uh, wether they are BAF or QCwhatever...they will still all be in the same place on the chatlog...

And, really not persuaded to make things simpler.

Um, no they won't. If you pull up the chat window and sort by name, then they're gonna be all over the place. It's also why I hate TBH's naming convention.

Yeah, but you try /i on any of those guys, *who should be in group chat with you*, and you'll be in trouble. Also, [QCP] and [QCO] always come up next to each other... why wouldn't [QCR]?

Dop...yes, they will. Our tags go before our names.

[QCO]
[QCP]
[QCR]

There we go, all alphabetical! I don't think any faction has tags that go in between those, so yes, they would in fact be together on the list.

I voted for the second option. Jeez, I had somebody ask me today what BPA stood for...we'd have people asking what BAF stood for as well. And, it's less headache for everyone, I think.

EDIT: I see Blunt beat me to it.:P

use the IDs...

/IDs (i believe) and invite the ID number.

It's in the Lane Hacker technical manual :rtfm:.. and it works.

Ok.. bad example maybe.. I was reffering to the SF/ QCO confusion.

EDIT:
@Blunt.. yeah.. you don't need the NCC but the SF do :)
Anyway it was just my opinion that I like the first option better. It's your choice to choose the name.. and you can actually completely disregard what we say.

About the /IDs

the /IDs command shows IDs of all people on the server.. you find the right number and remember it.. then you use the other command. Those IDs change every time you log.
Btw. It's faster to type than some of those long names with many signs ...*points at his own LH name*

Still, we'd have to keep a big list of numbers, right?

No way.

KISS. Keep it simple, silly.

Anyway, think of it this way...

QC is 'the master tag'.

The final letter is the subdivision's tag.

And, that way I don't need crappy NCCs.

its not at all my business actually. but i voted for combining them into one clearly characteristic tag like [BAF]. it clears up the official status - especially for new players.

i allways like it when fighters are named :
[tag]<pilot name>.shiptype

and capital ships:
[tag]<ship name in capital letters>.shipclass

in the end, it makes things a lot clearer than - and its some sort of "uniform". but like i said, not my business, i got nothing to do in bretonia ( currently retreating Clover from her determination, cause there is simply nothing to do for a gaian pirate )

Know What?

I HONESTLY don't know which I prefer anymore.

I don't even want to vote, but if I don't I cant see results. I'll vote for #2, but consider it a weak vote.

Reasons:

The /i thing will be SERIOUSLY messed up if the whole faction consists of people who got NCC's. At least with option 2, the existing QCO/QCP people can do the inviting, since they wont need an NCC, only the SF people will. Also Queen Carina's Regulars has a nice ring to it.

However, option 1 has simplicity and identification advantages.

IN ANY CASE THE AFFECTED SF OR (MAYBE) QCO/QCP PARTIES SHOULD GET THE NAME CHANGES WITHOUT HAVING TO GET AN NCC, IF THE ADMINS WOULD GRANT US THAT.

Not my fault the leaders left...

There would still be the NCC bug, though. Paying is not the issue. We're willing to do that.

Also, the way the NCC bug works is that you can't receive a remote invite.

Right, and to add to to those who whine about confusion for everyone else, I'm joining with Unselie on this one. I don't care if the ignorant are confused, they can look it up. The BAF tags and IDs should be enough of a hint, really. If they aren't, our modus operandi is well documented. If our foes are to be confused, I can't say that I'd be bothered.
