And I'd say give it a few gunboat turrets - and a powercore that will allow it to fire a few missiles. The only <cruiser weapon with a long enough range to clear it's own hull. Give it 6 hardpoints, 2 on the sides, 1 on the front and rear. 180dgr radius of fire. It'll, if it's lucky, be able to harass a few snubs.

Barge is simply too large for guns.

I second this.

The barge is that,A BARGE! I knew second they made it public,and people started getting blown up they would yell "MORE POWER MORE GUNS MORE SHIELDS" too dam bad. Just like other big slow ships it should have an escort scouting way ahead. If not? If your using it to trade? To bloody bad. Die! It was not put in game as a trader,or to earn people 100's of mil.

Good luck finding a class of turrets short of battleship ones that's able to cover the length of the Barge.

Well, I think that was a good idea to give it a few gunboat turrets for missiles. And a very heavy powercore (maybe even higher then 600/60) (turret position should be very dispersed, so you basically wont be able to use em with anything else).

This wont give any trouble to bombers, since you can't miss the Barge with a Snac from maximum distance... don't you? =)

And we all know how well missiles work on this server, so.... why not? :)

Yes lets do this. It will then no longer be classed as a transport,and hence caps "WILL" be allowed to shoot it. After all size of a dread,with BS,and Cruiser guns,and cruiser shields? That to me yells cap ship. And we all know non military cap ships are allowed in house space,and other caps will also be able/forced to remove them from house space to enforce the laws.
Yes i like this Idea. lets make them cap class ships instead of transport's so we can all blow them to hell and back. I like it.

Honestly, let's try that.

EDIT: Or rather, make an alternative barge with no cargo, but 50 transport guns.

I want to get off Mr. Igiss' wild ride.

Gunbarge much? And give it sixteen vertically launching missles and flak cannons that actually work, but make it doubly slow.

The barge should have it's gun hard points changed at least, just so you can shoot everything around your ship and not just to the front of it, like a real station can...

plus it would be nice to be able to mount some different weapons, ones more suited to a station defending itself rather than a transport defending itself...

But yeah, your never gonna be able to fight in a barge, if you ever NEED to your flying it wrong...
