To be honest I've been in a big RM vs LN conflict with at least 15 Battleship - Light Cruiser vessles per side. And that couldn't have lasted much more than 30 mins from when the mortars started flying.
I've sat and watched a 1 on 1 fighter battle for 1 hour before. I got so bored I flew off to do something else, came back an hour later and they were STILL at it.

There are a lot of things that can be said here. "This thread again" and "trial by forum" will be totally valid. But the point is that we have a balance team that tries to do it best and we have a generally fairily balanced game.
So, with all of the cons of the current situation that anyone can find, it's more than enjoyable, siя.
Actually... this is a good idea, at least removing them from fighters. I remember back in the KNF, when we'd do events, they'd go n for hours and hours because no one would die, even when everyone directed fire at a single target. However, removing them from capitalships would definitely be a bad idea, considering capitalship fighters are too fast as it is, and keeping bots would give them the advantage they sorely need against fighters and bombers, which are both several times over cheaper while typically being better.
For example! A typical VHF costs about, hmm, maybe 3 mil to fit while gunboat can cost around 80 mil, a cruiser around 200 mil, and a battleship around 1.5 to 2 bil (depending on cap8 or not). While four fighters can easily kill a lone cruiser, gunboat, and possible even a battleship (may need 5 or 6 to break the shield, but still). Now I'd not have so much of a problem with this balance if capitalships weren't so prohibitively expensive, I think that current transport and up prices could seriously be cut in half, back to 4.84 levels, because while ship prices have had heavy inflation, trading/smuggling/mining profits, have not had the same level of inflation.

Maybe fights are good for you guys, and if it's fine around the server, then nothing should be changed. But 9 out of 10 fights in snub v snub or group fights last about 30 min - hour. That drives me nuts. Also, its a pain in the butt to hit those guys in a group fight when the lag shows up.
Again, this is just me.

Some of them are really quick. For example you can attempt to insta your opponent while sacraficing your concentration on regular dog fight proceedures. It's all up to you. Longer fights provides more tactical choices.
