The Mafic is a multiple purpose fighter/bomber/miner. It's average at all its roles but it has the armour and shield class of a heavy bomber and fighter guns/turrets. Its firepower is rather below decent when compared to other fighters, but if you're good with your aim you can easily use your SNAC to great effect.

The Mafic is just like any other ship.

Some people will say it's good. These are the people who have learned how to fly it and use it's 'pros' to their advantage.

Some people will say it's bad. These are the people who have not taken the time to learn what is good about it.

I've seen someone fly a Dromedary, a FREIGHTER, that used to regularly kill Eagles and if they were still around today would probably scare the poo out of people flying Sabres.

It's not about how good it is, it's about how good YOU are with what you have.

So, I got the Mafic, and I was wondering if it's any good, I feel that 2 guns and 5 turrets is kind of bleh, but I could be wrong as I think I have **** turret and only my 2 guns are actually decent.

I've also got a question, the shield I have on it is class 10 but it tells me it can only use up to class 8, does that mean if I unmount the shield I won't be able to mount it back?

Good multi-role ship.

You can make cash mining for people. and Defending them. ( Done this lot in the Dublin Fever )
But you wont survive long in a Bomber group fight ( rofl ) You get 'SNAC'ed so quickly that you wouldn't even see it coming

But overall....Good Ship

I particularly love it. ... shooting at it.

I've played singleplayer alot and found that I tend to Joust alot against other ships instead of doing any sort of badass maneuvering except for dodging missiles, would a Titan be best for me?

Or possibly an Eagle, I don't know, I like the Mafic but I feel like it's not the kind of ship I'd want since I don't really want to mine and I'd be better off with a pure Fighter.

The Titan is the best jouster in my opinion (as far as Vanilla ships go). The Eagle requires more maneuvering, and it's amazing at that.

You should learn new methods of dogfighting as you go though.
