Anyway, I find this search for misteries quite weird. Don't have a solid reason to explain that trough...
Yeah alot of things weren't locked down before 4.80. You could do crazy things like put transport turrets on a fighter, or worse BS turrets on a transports. Turrets used far less energy and many sploits were available.
Funnily enough it was never a problem... until some little tosser came along and took advantage. Hence the huge stack of rules we enjoy today.
