Great to hear. Now if only I could get a few more to fly escort and a few more traders I could make a Kruger Faction .
[8:32:45 PM] Dusty Lens: Oh no, let me get that. Hello? Oh it's my grandma. She says to be roleplay.
[12:49:19 AM] Elgatodiablo: You know its nice that you have all that proof and all, Bacon... but I just don't believe you.

Its all because of my "Unused Factions" thread, bwahahahahahaha .

Mining can be profitable if you know what you are doing and where to do it. The Grau family has Hersteller and her crew permanently in the Barrier Nebula mining Niobium. We lay fierce claim to the sector of the nebula where we mine because it makes us huge profits. Hersteller mines the resources while Corredor transports them to be sold, and by the time Corredor returns Hersteller has yet another full bay. The nebula is so rich and huge that we make much in profit. In fact, we make more with this than with some smuggling runs! Though if you are mining in our sector we will kill you :D The nebula is huge and we only claim one square sector, so there is really no need to mine in ours. Plus our sector is so remote we have never even been seen while mining.
There are many good places to mine, you just have to know where to mine and where to sell. Like if you mine organisms in Theta and take them to Cambridge research center.
Also speaking of mining, is it still set to ban a player if he mines in the silverton field and is hostile to Xenos?
Also with regards to the Junker field in Omega 15, yeah they do pay a lot and one night after making thirty mil there I decided it was a bit too much. So what I do then is I collect scrap from other places and bring it there and add some rp to it. For example, we may take scrap from the grande negra and take it to the Junker base in omega 15 (Bornholm) and sell it there. Or take scrap from other places where stuff happened in the history. The idea is to give it the rp that this "junk" left over from these explosions contains somethings of value and by taking them all the way to Bornholm we are receiving good money for these items. Another thing I do to make it rp to sell junk there is I mine it from regular scrap fields far away and "refine" it into something useful on the way there and then sell the "refined" product on Bornholm for much more than normal scrap is worth.
Now I know scrap is scrap no matter where you take it or collect it, but with the things I do above I think it really helps to bring rp to the fact that you get paid a lot for scrap at Bornholm. I could just mine near bornhom and sell there too, but like I say it is a bit much so I do what I can to still sell junk there, but bring rp into it. Some may call it crazy, but I love rp and will keep doing it.

I'm not against the idea of scrap metal having value. Personally I think the prices should be upped at most stations so as to reward junkers, but really anybody who collects it. Especially in Manhattan, that way new players don't have to do missions at first if they don't want to. The problem is that at Bornholm you can simply launch into space and gather millions of credits worth of metal and sell it without going anywhere. I'm personally unaware of an easier way to make money on disco. That said I'm new.
I think there should be a base where scrap is sold for a high price, but it should be in a system where its not as easily available. Bornholm just doesn't make any economic sense since scrap is more abundant there than anywhere else, yet it trades at the highest price. Its like if Macadamia nuts cost more in Hawaii than anywhere else.
There was an old Faction that I ran, where we mined different places all over Sirius, and then sold the minerals to the traders that came by. It worked for a bit, until we realised that non-one other then the few people who heard of it on the forums, really wanted to participate.
It was a good idea, but with not enough support.
I would personally really enjoy to see a new mining faction appear. Maybe based on Daumann, or BMM. One of the corperations.
' Wrote:Kruger Minerals will pay you a good 1,500,000 credits for every 2500 diamonds you mine in Dresden, which is 600 credits per diamond, and 750,000 credits for every 2500 silver you mine in Omega-7, which is 300 credits per silver. That is my offer if you want to work for us, and is double what the local mining station would pay you.
Yes, I realize I would lose money this way, but for the sake of good RP, I'd definitely like to do it. Its just like hiring escorts even when I know there are no pirates in the area...
Join Kruger Minerals :). I'm afraid I'm the only one right now, but I'll pay you.

I've decided that I am just going to get a collector instead of a miner (I'm getting sick of no agility ships). Although I am still interested in working with you. Once I find weapons for the ship I could help escort, or employ my transport with you.

Alright. If you're a trader I personally run either Diamonds from Bautzen to Leeds (about 900 profit) and Beryllium from Cardiff to Dortmund Station (about 1300 profit) or Silver form Elbrich Minging Facility to Planet Hamburg (about 300 profit) and Mining Machinery from Essen Station to Elbrich Mining Facility (about 300). For escort pay, it's 1.5 million each way for Diamonds/Beryllium and 500k each way for Silver/Mining Machinery.
Besides Silver and Diamonds we also extract H-Fuel from planet Heidelberg in Frankfurt. I have yet to find a trade route for it, though. Try to avoid trading with Kusari, as we are openly hostile with the GMG since the 80-years war, and the farmers would crucify us if we were found in Kusari.
There are probably more trading routes, and the diamond one works for RP because of the Gateway/ALG/IMG alliance (What better way to reduce prices than to get them from the source?). Sell Beryllium at Dortmund instead of The Ring because we hate Daumann (or at least I do :rtfm:).
Well, hope this hasn't turned you away from the main source of Diamonds in Rhineland (Daumann is mainly Polymers/Cobalt, only Diamonds come from Omega-11, and are greatly hampered by the Hessians). Hope to see another Kruger shipper soon!
