While I enjoy my forum ar pee, not everyone does. Role playing on the forums is not a requirement and sometimes is just a repeated and unnecessary task. If you work it out in game, there is no reason to post it on the forums.

Third parties can PM you and ask for details if they so desire.

Anyways, I agree with the whole secrecy part. It is meh.

Oh, I didn't mean to say forum RP wasn't fun, I just think it's not /mandatory/ by far.

Maybe because I secretly suspect that alot more people read the flood than general discussion?
And perhaps a little bit because alot of the people who need to read this might hang around the flood
alot more than General Discussion.

But mostly because if my own oppinion was considered wrong by the masses it would end up in the flood anyway, however, if it was considered an interesting point to raise It would probably not matter where it
was...

Asto should RP be on the forums?

I think that all Charicter/Faction defining RP should be on the Forums.
So... All big decisions and RP choices that define what your faction is and how they act.
So people who meet you for the first time and RP with you can go and find
that RP and discover what your faction is about...

Also as an amendment to my original post I would like to clarify.

By "People write in Comminication channel asthough other factions/players can read it."
I meant that people write asthough factions other than the ones that the Communication has been sent to,
this makes perfect RP sence if you fear that your message will be forwarded to the faction you do not want to upset...
However if you know that there is no way INRP that another faction will find out about your message there should be no fear in writing whatever you like.

Anyway, thats just my oppinion.

Overall I am glad alot of you agree with my Original Post...

I hope I will be able to read why...

It seems as though some folks here misread the OP and think Psymple was complaining about metagaming.
Hes not, he's saying get over it.
And I agree heartily.

He's right, the forums enrich the RP.
All 'comms' (even the 'encrypted' ones) should be available to anyone who, for example, wants to know what the Junkers are up to.

All players should be able to read the comms, the inter-faction chatter, etc.
It adds depth, back-story, and reason.
It's literally "the Story of Discovery", if you read as much as you can, your understanding will grow exponentially.

But will this info get used to meta-game?
Sure will! - that's the nature of the human brain, always looking for the right tool for a job.

As Psymple stated, the other option is to keep all comms private thru skype or such.
Then noone would know what the heck is happening around Sirius. No thanks.

So, yup, metagaming is gonna happen.
Get over it.
Whining about it (or spending your time trying to 'bust' people for it) is just asinine, and a waste of your time and energy.

It'll also eat you up with spite and anger, which in my estimation is a pretty lousy way to play this game.
