But Gronath, what I was asking is could we make it so that they don't drop them. Example: NPCs never drop shields or their little tractor beams, couldn't you make the ID the same way? And I like Sovereign's ID about being an instant-rep by making enemy IDs contraband.

Its a great idea, and should be implemented...and NPCs dont drop things that are mounted, just like players, so there's no problem there.

Are you sure? I often end up looting CD's and guns off them after watching them asplode.

Bounty Hunter NPCs asking the KNF NPCs to drop their commanders/admirals and stuff. Then you have the base shooting all Kusari ships... Personally, I think this could be solved by making BHG not demand to drop contraband: why should they? They're paid for bounties, not to do general policing. Even if they were paid to take up a defensive role for lack of lawfuls, this shouldn't include contraband hunting.

You CAN make items undroppable, too, exhibit A is the Das Wilde lasers. 4k damage x 4.0 refire =:shok:and not for players...

To my knowledge, it does not ever happen that those objects are mounted. Some ships spawn in with unmounted, and thus droppable, weaponry. If you look at the nomads and wilde that drop blasters and cannons, you realize that the NPC guns are very different from the PC guns.

Things in the hold drop, after taking some level of damage, and things mounted do not.
