In other words, Discovery time is unaffected by real time if you are right. Hm.

BUT! When 4.85 is released, we get a massive time-jump forwards.

Think about it. Tons of new ships don't get developed overnight. Ergo, we're looking at at least 5 years.

That's my take on it, anyways.

Concur with the 817 crowd though for now.

Until 4.85 comes out, you're frozen on December 31st, Midnight.

A way a lone a last a loved a long the riverrun, past Eve and Adam's, from swerve of shore to bend of bay,
brings us by a commodius vicus of recirculation back to Howth Castle and Environs.

Those ships are being developed as we speak, though!

At least, for the past several months I've made numerous mentions of 'overlooking' the construction of our new ships in evora shipyard. As far as my RP is concerned, the ships have been under design and construction for quite a long time now, and are nearing completion.

I will tell you, conclusively and definitively, that 4.85 is definitely set in mid 817 A.S. There's no point in anyone thinking it is anything else, because that is what is going into the release of 4.85, so it is mid 817 A.S as of the release of 4.85 and it is 816 A.S until then:P

Wait a sec, you cant just jump from 816 right into the middle of 817 =P

If we just had the 'new year', its not early 817 A.S., so if 4.85 is being released within the next few months, it would be releasing in 'mid' 817, it makes sense =)

Over a year passes in-RL, but in-RP only 6 months have passed? I hate to offend anyone but that is just illogical and unrealistic. If anything, time in-game should pass faster than real life, not slower. (due to scale)

Im sticking to what i think it is, according to the real life time that has passed. It's been 9 years since Chris Roberts created the Nomad War and the singleplayer story, so 809 A.S. is what date it is to me. The dates and events in real life match up with the dates and events in-game, and are my evidence that this to be true and a fact.

Quote:799 A.S. - 1999 A.D. (Freelancer is announced by Chris Roberts.)
800 A.S. - 2000 A.D. (Freelancers shipping date is pushed back. Microsoft buys Digital Anvil in December. Microsoft instructs Digital Anvil to scale down the ambitions of the project, and focus on their strengths.) IE; The Singleplayer Story about the Nomad/Order War.
801 A.S. - 2001 A.D. (The Freelancer team kept a low profile.)
802 A.S. - 2002 A.D. (Digital Anvil finished adding all the content for the game in October.)
803 A.S. - 2003 A.D. (Freelancer is released by Microsoft in March.)
804 A.S. - 2004 A.D.
805 A.S. - 2005 A.D. (Discovery 4.76 is Released. August 01)
806 A.S. - 2006 A.D. (Discovery 4.77, 4.78, 4.79, 4.80, 4.81, and 4.82 are all Released.)
807 A.S. - 2007 A.D. (Discovery 4.83 and then 4.84 is Released. December 09)
808 A.S. - 2008 A.D. (Last Year.)
809 A.S. - 2009 A.D. (Happy New Year!!!)
Even if counting the 817 date set, and extra 10 years added on by Igiss when 4.84 came out in 2007, then it would now be "the first period" January of 819 A.S., anything else simply dont make sense to me.

I guess much like anyone trying to change history or correct a popular belief, i'm going to meet feirce opposition on this and might even get hung for treason or heresy.
"Your wrong, your stupid, your an idiot, youll never get people to believe this!"
"Everyone knows the world is flat! Your going to sail right off the edge you fool!"
"You simply cant be right because that goes completely against what is in the book and we already believe!"
/Sarcasm

Secondly, to me, most of the things like ships/weapons/id's/commodities/ect that are added to the mod are things that "shouldve been there to begin with" so they arent really a part of the time frame in that respect.
