all in all the conclusion is that disco doesn't need antagonist factions, it doesn't need phantoms, it doesn't need nomads, it doesn't need coalition and it doesn't need many other things, no AIs, the game is hijacked by morons to confuse the game with their dickwaving generic competition games mixed up with troll-of-the-day.

Fourth, connection to third: I was really disappointed when I saw the eye-picking sign on the reg page "BY THE CREATORS OF DOTA". Now, every single person, who had at least a month of expirience with dota, knows that it was made by one single person- Ice Frog. And no, he does not have a team, he does it all by himself. He only asks freinds to test the new version before it is released or to make the art picture for the cover of the map. Everything else is his own work. Final summation- the creators of LoL suck at lying. Also, trying to lance your creation under the names of other great developers is really lame.

I couldn't help but bump this thread. No point in creating a new one.

Get your facts straight. Ice Frog worked for Riot Games, the company that develops League of Legends. Ice Frog also worked for S2 Games, the company that makes Heroes of Newerth. Ice Frog worked for numerous companies on DOTA-related products, he even worked for Valve software on their upcoming DOTA2. If you see a game that resembles DOTA, odds are Ice Frog was probably involved with it in some form.

Furthermore, Ice Frog himself is a compulsive liar (he was fired from Valve, and he cheated alot of people at S2/Riot Games when LoL and HoN were relatively new and still growing. Ice Frog's scams have been well documented in the DOTA community, so there's no need to turn this into an elitist hate thread.

With that said, League of Legends is dramatically different than DOTA. DOTA and League of Legends are so completely different that they shouldn't even be in the same category. League of Legends focuses on arcade run n' gun combat whereas DOTA gameplay often revolved around the more "hardcore" strategy and tactics of the Warcraft genre.

I like all of the DOTA "clones." League is good, Heroes of Newerth is good, Bloodline is good. All of them have their own unique take on DOTA gameplay. League of Legends is the game to play if you want an arcade experience, that's why it's my favorite. I don't play Heroes of Newerth that much because it forces you to rely too much on team mates who are often terrible, and the same is true with Bloodline Champions.

The only thing I hate about DOTA "clones" is that they always have a terrible community. You always get trolls like the guy I quoted above ranting about elitist, purist garbage that nobody gives a damn about. If you're gonna play one of these games you'll need tolerance, because the communities for each game are absolutely terrible. Plagued by trolls and foul mouthed children who can't tell their own a$$hole from a hole in the ground.
