I honestly don't like this 'playing for keeps' scenario with balance being what it is, to be completely honest.

' Wrote:Why not? Both of these factions focus quite heavily on smuggling and black market activities, just because they have fighters available doesnt mean that the bulk of the faction's members would be using them. The way I see it, the fighters and other combat craft are there to keep some semblance of security around the bases, but when it comes to overall numbers and "fleet power", the transports and freighters are where it's at.

Besides, we've never really done a transport-centric pvp event before, it would be interesting to set this up on the restart event server where players can have immediate access to the transports mentioned in my last post for combat use. No one has to worry about fighters or bombers or capships, and the transports are much better balanced against one another.
Well, Hogs have Mamoru which they can effectively employ against Junkers Transports or SHFs.

I can see your point. There are major balance issues.

The problem is that a centric part of Hogosha RP is the defeat of the Junkers. So anything the Hogosha do in toward that goal is hampered.

If we did a transport event there wouldn't be any bombers in it now would there?

This. Nothing but transports fighting transports, a new kind of pvp event =P

It'd almost be like watching retards box.

Quote:Yeah I'll be totally honest here. Rabas versus Salvagers would be fun, but we'll still have the balance issues.

The Raba and Pirate Transport are very closely matched in terms of firepower, manuverability, armor, power core, etc. etc. They would be the best ships to compare to one another for this.

The Salvager doesnt really have a counterpart on the hogosha side, but you could bring in the kusari container transport to balance things out, since it's got 12 guns available that can all shoot in most directions.

Then we should bring in all combatants of Sigma-13! D:<

No, real issue is...why'd Hogosha bring transports to attack something? They have much more mobile ships. Well, transport or two wouldn't hurt, of course.

Actually I'd prefer transports and freighters only. Give some amount of variety.

Perhaps Rabas and Correos (same design line even), vs Salvagers and a Junker freighter. Not sure which one, but I know the Junkers have access to a few.

Or like Tenacity's idea, but Ptrans should be allowed on both sides I think since it's a universal ship. Or we could keep it strictly to Junkers for balance reasons..

Hogosha: Raba, Ptrans (maybe), Ctrans, Correo
Junker: Ptrans, Salvager, freighter (whichever), and add in another transport of some kind.

Guys, events can be for fun; there doesn't HAVE to be a reward. It's just a game.

No Salvagers; a fleet of those would just be ridiculous. What I'd say is Pirate Transports vs. Akegata Container transports with dashes of Firefly, BWT, Pirate Train, Raba, and whatever freighters the two sides have access to.

Since the Hogosha are so closely connected to the Kusari Lawfuls, having a few of the house transports or freighters tossed their way would be a reasonable idea.

If fighters are to be included, allow the junkers some Scimitars or Switchblades to counter the faster Hogosha ships in addition the CSV II and Bulldog. Give the Hogosha some of the CTE-series ships for fairness and variety.

Does this sound like a good idea in general terms?

A way a lone a last a loved a long the riverrun, past Eve and Adam's, from swerve of shore to bend of bay,
brings us by a commodius vicus of recirculation back to Howth Castle and Environs.

We could use the Junker shipline, seeing how our NPCs have access to it.

I want to get off Mr. Igiss' wild ride.

Good idea, the Hogosha will put in a call with the the Corsairs...

I'm perfectly fine with a fleet of Salvagers, they aren't that powerful. I like the idea of bringing any transport or freighter that each faction has access to. It adds some variety.
