does not convince me - i m afraid, so they would sell the upcoming destroyer to those that might turn it against them? - no, i don t think so. and they DO build those
Since part of this topic's subtitle is "RP vs. Effective Weapons Loadouts" I would like to bring up something else. Some people have said there's no problem with equipping several Nomad weapons, while others have said you should have no more than two. Is there a right answer on this?
Anyone else finding these types of post far too numerous lately? Sorry to sound rude or arrogant but do you really need to keep doing these same old discussions? Can't common sense be exercised? After all its the people who don't read the forums that are using the bad RP load outs anyway.
@Jinx- No offense, but I do not understand your Zoner / Giovanni analogy. I haven't seen any zoners trying to raise the dead lately.....
For those of you who don't know about Clan Giovanni

Who would turn anything against the Zoners? The Zoners aren't a para-military group. The worst they'd see is a stupid pirate attacking them occasionally (worst I've ever seen). Factions respect the Zoners and it doesn't seem prudent to attack a group that sells you good stuff. Whats the motivation? If I'm going to war with my mortal enemy and the Zoners are selling me materiel so that I might prosecute said war why am I going to attack them? Its like saying lets bomb Lockheed Martin with a Stealth Bomber... that was fun...
But when it comes to ships, yes the Zoners might limit proliferation. Allies and closer buddies. But your logic seems to imply that they'd only keep them to themselves. You can't be a very good capitalist if you don't sell anything, and Zoners are definitely capitalist.

Nexus, after some time for reflection, I hope you will come back and severely edit your post.
Merely saying, "Sorry to sound rude or arrogant", does not at all mitigate the way you "sound".
I am grateful that someone raised this issue, and find the spirited and polite debate very educational.
Without threads like this, there would be no forum that we could criticize others for not having read.

I don't know if this was directed at me or not, but I happen to be a faction policy maker and sometimes questions like this come up. I'll ask if and when the spirit moves me, you can just avoid the threads thanks.
"To gain a hundred victories in a hundred battles is not the highest excellence;
to subjugate the enemy's army without doing battle is the highest of excellence."
... Yes. It gets rather tiresome seeing LSF and SA spanking the Order with an Order gun... Like, say... The Nova. Last time I saw one, his excuse for being in Minor was, "Just passing through". Who the F*rill*... Frill... "Just passes through" enemy territory?
Who docks on Isis and gets stuck inside with a Liberty Battlecruiser?... Technically they should have fixed their rep to suck with the Order. But they use Armor upgrades and weapons bought from "Just passing through".
I dislike the common misconception of "It's a FREE PORT, I buy want I want." That doesn't make the weapon RP any less teh suck. For instance; the Liberty factions preach, "Don't use pirate/enemy weapons."
... And guess what happens? Oh, sorry... I found this Azreal in a Freeport... That's okay, right? I bought it off of a Liberty Rogue who was just passing through. We sat down, had a cup of tea, and negotiated the price. What a wonderful man. I'm glad I didn't shackle him and do my job. OH THE BEAUTY OF FREEPORTS! *frolicks through meadows on Manhattan*
... No.
As for the Nomad cannons... I have found a rapid-firing alternative that deals the same damage for little-to-no power drain. With a high fire rate, it deals about the same damage as a cannon. But I'll not disclose that, so as not to create a new pwn trend. I don't know why everybody loves them so. Energy hogs, slow fire rate, only 500 damage... Ish. 700 for a cannon...
But I only see this because of... My new equivalent! Bwah! Bwah ha... Preposterous.
i believe i know what gun your talking about magoo. But i digress. I think we are getting a little bit off topic i think. i always thought thAt zoneRs were more of slIghtly civilian group. I dont think that there iS any real way to figure out who should and shouldnt be allowed to use zoner weapons, short of only letting the order and gas mining guild use them.
