Why do people without lag have the disadvantage?

I seem to have a lot of lag in multiplayer, sometimes, usually it's fine.
I belive it's because I have wireless a internet connection.... Useless hunk of junk...
At least my computer can handle this game, although the text appears rather big and goes outside of name boxes. A bigger monitor will solve this..
I'm going need to need to get a wired iconnection soon.....

All I am asking for is more understanding from their side. Fleeing out of these fights is no option either, because after that most of them pin you down with "olol you fled, 4 HOURZ!!1"

One time I had a guy that started to lag once he noticed he wasnt going to win a 1 on 1, probably by turning on something that made him lag. He also refused to leave or stop when I told him I wont continue the fight like this. Yeah, some people play like that, unfortuantely.

Upload and download lag. Someone seeding a torrent but not downloading anything will kill their upload speed for Freelancer, making them lag for everyone else, but they'll be able to see everything going on almost as soon as it happens server-side.

I see alot of possible abuse in near future.

So seeding a torrent might give me an edge on combat? hmmm . . . jk

Screen it,and their ping,and continue to play. If they say they going to report you? well screen that to. You cannot be sanctioned for anothers bad attitude/ping/lagg/down right stupidness.

It's true, it has always been a problem.
And recently, more and more people are lagging around.
Yesterday, one guy even told me I'm teleporting like mad.
I immediately pinged myself and noticed my ping is 100, lag 0%, but fluct was around 8.
So, what is this fluct anyway?

Also, yesterday I fought a Sabre that was lagging like hell, and he could hit me no problem, taking half of my hull in one pass without even seeing him shooting at me.
He's just jumping around, forth and back, and all of a sudden I have a hull breach.
It doesn't matter that I strafe and dodge like mad, I get hit and that's it.

So, basically, I agree with the first post.
When someone tells you you are teleporting around, you should not use it to your advantage.
I'm not saying you should die, but you should stop your engagement if the other party is also willing to stop.

Not to mention that Sabres jump around no matter what. Add to that some lag and, of course, some krakens/nomad lasers and you get an ultimate pwnzor ship. Yayks.

Record all. Go your own way,or call in every ship on your side to Pawn his u know what. Then continue to do it till he logs off. Someone wants to be a prick like that? give it back to them,and hope they ragequit.

The above is one of the reasons i been staying away from Disco as of late. Everyone,and then some is looking for cheap way to get blue messages,and do not give a rats u know what about others fun. I have not logged any GB's or smaler in over a week,and only use the bigger on slow time periods.
Right now even the staff is doing little to nothing to assist. You file a report on crap like this,and swearing/shooting with no RP,and so on,and they do absolutely nothing.
I have never agreed in the past,but i have to now agree with all those who say Disco is slowly going to hell. Soon only to be a lolwut,and PvP server.

PS. Go play World of tanks. No lolwuts,as the get banned with no exceptions.

People with lag and loss are getting less hit by missiles
since the server has a hard time to let the missiles fly to a jumpy target

non-laggers have a higher possibillity to get hit.

If so, this is the most magnificent case of pot calling the kettle black, bud. I've seen lag from you in a fight in Texas so laggarific that an ace pilot had to call in assistance because you were lag mining him.

Huh? I fought someone in Texas some days or a week ago, that is right.....and I lagged? Seriously, I doubt it: I live in continental Europe and I have a 16.000 kilobit/s connection. My ping is below 50ms most of the time, fluct, loss and lag are almost never a problem on my side...I also do not use torrents. And I also do not remember him saying to me that I did. If he has evidence of pingtarget or of the chat where he tells me about my lag, he should send it to me. If it is true, I will pay a compensation and apologize.
