Server Event: The Run of the Magnificent

Been here since Discovery 4.77 (lurk mode engaged)

I have recently met and discussed with Atalawohisdi the trader that flies the Caribe. Just so everyone knows, I engaged in Sigma 13. He flies through half the system before going back to New Berlin, where he cruises from one side of the system to the other, hugging the sun as close as he can. All the while, he flies near Battleships trying to scrape me off. I finally send out the white flag, and move back to Sigma 13. However, it was a ruse, and he bit. Knowing his trade route, I interdicted the trade lane and the chase began anew. It ended, an hour after it began, with me retreating, out of Countermeasures and getting very irritated.

He kept boasting how he has never been caught; I'd like to see him beat until he begs to pay, then beaten some more.

Im not sure if i will be able to assist. My PC messed UP and im trying to restore my windows instalation :(
Now, given that the phantoms are protecting the magnificent (there is plenty of people protecting it), i will be on the side of the defenders. My 8492 char will be there to protect manhattan!

The event was a little slow getting started, thank you Phantoms for being punctual :cool:

Once it got going though everyone wanted more :D

Short recap (from my viewpoint :D)

First Run - Random Route (4 on 4)
Phantoms go through alaska jump hole first, creating havoc, the Magnificent follows later. Taking an avoidance route, Magnificent heads for connecticut with little opposition. Chase of the Magnificent through New York. Magnificent crashes into Manhatten's docking ring, followed by several Phantoms.
Nomads and Phantoms: 1
Everyone else: 0

Second Run - Fixed Route through Alaska->New York Jump Gate (4 on 4, I think)
Phantoms go through alaska jump hole first, creating havoc, the Magnificent follows later. Not much avoidance, straight route to Alaska jump gate, minimal opposition until jump gate. Jump gate successfully blocked by a liberty cruiser. Magnificent hit by nova and later destroyed.
Nomads and Phantoms: 1
Everyone else: 1

Third Run - Random Route (4 on more)
Magnificent goes through first. Chased and engaged by Angel. Everyone else fighting somewhere. Eventually, Magnificent heads towards connecticut chased by Alias and Angel. Phantoms waiting to ambush Alias and Angel on other side of jump gate. [8492nd] and AW forces in ambush on either side of connecticut->new york jump hole. Magnificent runs through, and is chased to Manhatten. Magnificent crashes into Manhatten's docking ring, followed by several Phantoms.
Nomads and Phantoms: 1
Everyone else: 2

End Results
1. I need to learn how to dock a BS better with jump gates :lol:

2. The Magnificent has crashed into Manhatten after blasting through the defenses of the connecticut jump-gate. Honorable mention to the liberty cruiser that successfully blocked the jump-gate in run 2, that part will be worked into the story (albeit the exact character name will not be used since the ship will have to be destroyed in order for the magnificent to reach manhatten)

Watch for the completed story in the sci-fi portion of the forum, once i've written it :D.
