What the original poster fails to take into account is fill time. The rich diamond fields offer the fastest fill-the-hegemon around. True, you need repairs every now and then - so fill up and dock at the nearest station. I believe there's Solarius in system, and there's a border station at the other side of the jumpgate. Inconvenient at best, but not critical.
Hardening the mining guns against radiation damage might be something to take into account. Makes sense those things are sturdy, being utility equipment. I'll see what the devs think on it, but that would be something that can't be done till 4.86 since it means altering a weapon stat.

Rogue: The yields of the 5 small fields changed. Test them. The Hessian Hole sweetspot has been nerfed, the other fields (especially the first and fifth) got a bump in yield. I suspect you were mining the middle small circle still and assumed it to be mined out - it's low yield by design now.

As for not trading it at all - make some underhanded deals with a third party. Heck, DHC has made deals with the Hessians, they can sure as hell make a deal with a party like the IND or such to smuggle the stuff across by the bargeload. The Bret salepoint is weaker then the Liberty one, ~6K at BPA Newgate if I'm not misstaken.
And Daumann can still do Cobalt just fine, having claimed the field west of Leipzig for their own private use (along with the southern Omega for copper - but that's a shaky claim still;))

I thought Cannon gave a second sell point for copper somewhere in Bretonia. Not sure where though.

Edit: Yep, it sells at BPA Newgate for 5500

Ugh, please, stop reminding me of this. It makes me feel sick.

I want to get off Mr. Igiss' wild ride.

You're right, supplying/trading/having drinks with BMM is much better

Daumann's mining is "underpowered" mainly because of the Kruger indies and Hessians that mine Daumann's fields but it was a lot worst a couple of months ago.

Omega 11 will stay empty of lawful forces, bounty hunters and mercs no matter how much the price for uncut diamonds is raised, mainly because miner are greedy and they don'€™t want to pay for escorts. Police/military/bounty hunters won'€™t go there because of the epic repair bills due to the radiation.

As far as I'€™m concerned O11 is just fine the way it is now: Sirius'€™s most disgusting hell hole. For some strange reason I'€™m starting to like it that way. What Daumann really needs is a way to protect its other fields, from Kruger in O7 and from IMG/Kruger/indie miners in Dresden and Munich. I Q_Q'€™d about that several times but the admin team didn'€™t find a solution yet; I hope they are working on one.

IMG shouldn't be in Dresden and Munich. O7 is another matter... Which is currently being dealt with by agressive negotiations;)
As for protecting your assets, what's wrong with putting a few holes in ships that shouldn't be there? Get some fighters, get organized. If you're worried about being underpowered ask the RM for some Wraiths or Valks for company use as you did in the past. Rheinland has fine class 9 plasma weapons so equipping them shouldn't be hard. Firekiss x6 makes for a fine shotgun, and you can always chainfire em 3 by 3 if you prefer a refire 4.

This isn't an admin problem, it's a player will to protect assets you see as your own problem. Same deal in Omega 11 - with the radiation pirates won't wait there.

[Edit] @Above: SCRA presence tends to be unhealthy for Daumann pilots;)

IMG indies do mine all over the place and its the same with Kruger indies.

As for the protection, the hardware is not the problem. Our ID doesnt allow us to shoot Krugers anywhere or IMG/indie miners outside the Omegas and we were not allowed to place a bounty on Kruger ships

Just to make it clear, when I say IMG and Kruger I'm not talking about factions, but indies with no respect for RP

They come and support the Red Hessians, and it has happened to our members at DHC already.

Despite the fact that there was a bounty on them for months (before it was taken down for whatever reason) and no one ever complained. I don't really know why this is no longer allowed. <strike>I even remember a bhg enforcing our regulations on Kruger vessels and asking them out of our fields and if I'm not mistaken one even fought a kruger wraith after a discussion about field property (indie kruger ofc). I'd post the pictures but I have over 2k pics and it could take a while.</strike>

Well I just have a stupid pic where I say "What a Kruger wraith?" (what was I thinking...) so nevermind that part.
