ya if ur making tau 63... dont put alot of rocks plz... unless its just small ships... it gets fustrating after a while to manuver between small rocks... i remeber once i had the biggest bs in the game... had to sell my ship becuz it was to big and couldnt get through the rocks (this was on a private server)

Agreed on the rocks, at least, on the astral plane. If any, just a belt. I still want the debris field around Mito, but I did say Exclusion Zone. Also, the big-rock-in-the-middle-of-nowhere is a good point...maybe we should have a big spherical nebula, maybe half the size of 85's nebula, below Mito and throw in more big chunks of rock floating around randomly...we should justify the presence of a rock that big.
As for the black hole, there's actually a dead-end jumphole at the center... and you can't put the black hole model in the center of the system because it needs to be viewed from a specific range of angles, namely any angle where the base of the vortex doesn't reach past the brim. Otherwise the illusion is ruined and you can see the effects behind Razgriz.

Personally I'm tired of people using guard systems as shortcuts.
If your part of the faction that has a guard system then fine, fly in there all you like.
But flying through because it's a shortcut is bugging me, alot.
So, my suggestions:
The minefield around the jh idea mention earlier, but expanded on. Minefields around all the jh's in tau 63 with a passage way big enough for a blood dragon BS to just get through.
Throw some wrecks (empty, fighters, freighters, transports etc) in the minefields to prove the point, you don't come in unless we want you to.
Station a couple of blood dragon cruisers at the outside minefields, as weapon platforms but keep the forward guns (anyone flying out straight and level will get popped).
(Assuming that the above suggestion gets shot down in flames and the nuked)
I'll be more then happy if we:
Scatter more rocks around the system, add some gunboat patrols and give all the guard NPCs train disrupters. If someone gets in they won't be cruising away anytime soon (plus it'sa pirate guard faction, so they would easily have access and funding to use the best tech).
EDIT:
On second thought, only have minefields around the jh's that don't lead to the GC guard, after all they're sort of allies so they should be able to enter tau-63.
Just a little tip guys, a home system aint a place where you can put as many cool things in as you like. Things like a blackhole, which vape suggested, dont fit in.
Give the bases an RP meaning, let them sell our stuff, and were done if you ask me.
1. since BDs live on rocks, and not planets (they just aint that big to feel the need to inhabit planets IMO) id suggest having a thin asteroid field, with enough gap to let battleships through. remember, its the BD home system, so tony can take as much time he wants to get his big ship out of the rocks:P
2. putting in gunboat and/or cruiser patrols is an idea i accept with open arms. its needed. how about: gb patrols from 10-20k away from mitos, and cruiser patrols from 0-10k away from the mitos. the closer you get, the more the defences. give all the NPC patrols CDs. its needed. why? because its a guard system. any guard system should be heavily defended, thats why its called a guard system. its not supposed to be used for travelling through by random players..
3. near both the jumpholes, put small minefields to show that the blood dragons have advanced, and making thier stronghold (tau 63) even stronger.
4. the dragons are in dire need of another base in 63. at the moment its simply too bland, with a base, 2 jhs, and some weapons platforms. its not enough. so, i suggest making another base, a headquarter type. and put the fighter/bomber class ships to be sold there (so thats the BD, BD bomber and R talon. this frees up space for adding capships to mitos) there instead of the mitos. put a nebula around the base, with an exclusion zone in between (i like the nebula in tohoku, when u jump in from chugoku. the ones with the rocks. has an eerie feel to it.)
5. as someone suggested, changing the sun to the BD theme. it will further promote the fact that this is truely a blood dragon system.
6. no, we dont need a black hole. why? because it was a unique object made by nightfall for 85, and i prefer it stays there. and plus, it wont suit tau 63 anyway.
7. the starscape. i dont like the current one, its annoying. i was thinking something along the lines of having a starscape like manchester has (red), since it will fit in with the BD theme IMO.
8. as eppy suggested, i think adding a planet or two will be a good idea, with rings (like in 74[?]), or a planet, with a couple of moons..? (this is not really needed imo, but u can do it if u feel)
thats all i can currently think with all the strain mah brain is under (stoopid alarm clock...):P
if i remember anything else, ill add it later.
I've been nagging Exile about the thing for ages now.
Good luck with the thing.
If I may suggest anything - try throwing in a couple of Tohoku-like asteroid fields w/ nebulas.
Ypu already have a multi-funcional base/shipyard/fortress, so any other base would most likely be something of a supply depot or research station.
Of other stuff - a few KNF wrecks, maybe a Kusari capship wreck to give your place a more unique feel. Something like the wreck of the Namura in omicron 85 - a reminder of a past battle Kusari would most like to forget.
