We believe the idea responsible for this request is that people feel they should know how such rulings are made. Discovery's players wish some reassurance that they are being governed fairly, some tangible evidence to that point. We believe the players wish to know that ideas here are given a fair chance at success, and on what points they rise and fall.
It may be more work, but we are convinced that there is a discussion that goes into each and every faction proposal submitted, and we do not believe it is too much for this community to ask for a list of the minutes, as it were, of the meeting that decides a faction proposal's fate.We feel that when a faction is submitted that the community deserves to know what it is, and by whom, and on what points it is condoned or condemned. We, the Community, are, after all, the people who ultimately have to live with them. Why not keep us informed?

If this is about that, then you are barking up the wrong tree ... The word 'no' was never used, or certainly
not by me in any communication.
I was going to make a list of do's and don't's, but I think you have said enough for people to get the right
idea, and if you want to help anyone please do, but as admins we have little enough time now to have to
be re-writing players faction ideas.
Personally, my time to play is getting less and less, as the server gets busier and busier, and trying to keep
a reasonable handle on who or what gets recognition now, eats into a considerable part of it, as I am the
middle man. I could actually do without it now.
The creation rules changed to stop the rising flood of completely ludicrous and totally unnecessary 'clans'
or 'YANFs' as they were christened at the time, taking over. If you want the responsibility of shooting down
creation ideas, as a collective, I will put the idea back on the admin forum. It is you guys who ultimately
have to deal with them in game.
But if it just descends into the likes of the last shambles, it will quickly revert back again, and will probably
get stricter.
Quote:As regards the faction creation/ refusal , Next you will be asking how we decided a sanction or why did we not tell anyone what is planned in the next mod, the list is endless.
I think people just want to know stuff that will directly affect them. Sanctions or future mod inclusions will never have any business in the hands of people who they don't belong in at that time.
As the server could use a LOT of a good factions, I think its important to know what a faction NEEDS.
While being quite funny, your sig was the biggest one i've ever seen so far. No more than 700x250 please. ~utrack http://pastebin.com/SYQXBufs
well i agree with everything mcneo has said i do think it is needed to lead people trying to get a faction (if it looks like it has promise) in the right direction.
take RoS for example.... i didnt know of the ship lists etc and kinda screwed up my diplomacy.
but alot of others helped me sort that out (even if a good part involved flames) they helped me sort things out and here i am.. some people may still not like us etc but i would like to think it helped us to the point of being a good part of the outcasts
Why were my post and Tony's response deleted? Are we resorting to censorship now? I'd like an explanation please.
That said, it seems I'm always the last to know, and the first to stick my foot in it.
Point taken, Tony, to a degree..
Epyon, is this true then? You felt so vehemently about your position that you needed to reinforce it by posting in mufti?
That's akin to my voting in a poll four different times using four different accounts. Not cricket at all bud.
Now.. I don't think that sanctions should be subject to "peer review", Tony. I have complete faith in the Admins' ability to judge fairly; and Jes is absolutely right that you lads have enough on your plate as it is, and it cuts into your own ability to enjoy this marvelous place.
I was not so concerned that PRF might not have gotten a fair hearing. I was a bit surprised to see the rather abrupt Faction Post of the Flying Tigers, on the other hand. Their standing appears to be excellent, RP-wise, but it was a bit of a "fait accompli" in a sense.. no prior announcement or discussion was available to the community.
And finally, Tony, you mentioned peer review of what might or might not be in the "next mod". Again, I have faith, to a degree. But I give you fair warning.. If "Das Wild" pops into existence at some point without the input of the community, you will have one screamin' Discordian primate on your busted back.
What is with all these one-liners? People should post reasons as to why they agree....
Anyways, going with what Tony and Jes are saying, maybe is time that we had either some Server police or some more Admins. It would lower the current Admins workload by a lot.
