however strange the hitbox sometimes looks - ... i think its not detrimental to the balance very much. - when i aim at the hull of a capital ship, i generally hit it. - when i fight a fighter, its mostly spray and pray anyway, - i don t expect all my shots to hit. - sometimes a shot goes through the ship, happens, - can aswell be lag.
its a huge hysteria about it. - some hitboxes are indeed funny, - but in the game, i don t feel everything to be in such a bad shape. ( in so far, knowing that a hitbox doesn t fit well makes the pilots fight biased ) -
sometimes ignorance may be better than knowing everything.
The Togo's hitbox would actually work wonderfully if it were flipped around. It'd still present hitbox where no model exists in the front, but it would really make it harder to hit from behind.

I have to disagee with that... BS/Cruiser hitboxes are not that big deal since there is always plenty of space to hit anyway.
GBs and down hitbox/size is essential for the survivability of the ship. Compare Thor vs RH bomber.. same agility, RH turns slower.. but Thor has almost double size hitbox... HUGE difference.
I really don't use "spray and pray" firing 2.00 guns or supernova.

i do not doubt the usefulness and fairness about discovering these issues. - but i think there is a risk that someone may just blame the other one for using a bugged hitboxed fighter or whatever else when there is a fight now. - before it was just either being lucky or skilled or unlucky. - now there are a lot of reasons why someone lost and someone else won.
while its most certainly fair to undiscover all that. - it won t make people happier is what i mean. people won t feel better knowing how the hitboxes look like. - the knowledge doesn t add much positive - unless they are all changed. - but there are an aweful lot of ships around, - and even if someone took the time to "fix" them, - there are still opinions about what fits better or worse.
Well yes I understand... but as you can also notice just about all of the ships that have too small hitbox are ships that are not "needed" to be flown. Yes it sounds bad I know...
but nobody needs to fly Kushan VHF until it gets fixed.. plenty options there...
Same with Stinger only GMG might argue but they have Taidan HF (with too big hitbox) and can use Eagle.
Slipstream.. you can always use Scimitair.. I haven't used my Slipstream for 4 months now.. because I think it's a bit unfair.
Say Challenger I have no problem with that at all and I fight them often.. yes the ends are not covered.. but it's a huge ship anyway, and having torpedo slots on the end of the wings makes them very hard to aim and very easy to get damaged.

Can somebody please post the Taidan HF btw.
EDIT: Thanks... so the Taidan HF has hitbox like twice the size of Stinger one :(It could be made much narrower.

Ok... Hitboxes that are too small, yes, I have a problem with, hitboxes that are too big, yes, I still have a problem with that.
Capitalship Hitboxes; Why not make them accurate? What's to be lost by it? We make the mod better, if your shot should miss the ship, but it hits because the hitbox is wrong, then, you've just won unfairly, through no fault of your own of course. But you've got an advantage over the other person, i.e. your far more likely to hit his ship. Making a capship hitbox tiny is also a problem, what if your shot SHOULD hit, but it doesn't, because the hitbox was done up baddly,
Fighters; Uhhm... Yes, it is spray and pray to an extent. But your estimating what you'll need to do to hit the other guy, not just, closing your eyes and shooting in the general direction. The shot should not pass through the ship, and the shot shouldn't hit if it's off the hull.

Spray and pray I've a problem with. My aim is rather good, and I've taken to memorizing where the hitboxes on fighters are. An Rc, for example, is actually a rather nice target for a mini while its turning, if you remember that the wing hitboxes are mostly in front of the wings. Just me knowing that is an unfair advantage, same as knowing that I can pass a mini into a challenger if I shoot near the bottom, but only if its on the outside edges. The ships should have hitboxes where hull are.
