My point exactly.

As far as I know there is no other cruiser that is this skinny. The only one I can compair it with is the OC Desi wich is the opposite of this design , being flat and all. But if he adds some wings / stabilazers it will sorta ruin the BH feel to it , but that may be the lesser of two evils , cuz I don't want to see a huge armada of new bounty hunters flying these things.

it shouldn't be any skinnier than a kusari destroyer, and it'll have more surface area from the side than the kusari Dessie. it's based off the BH fighter designs, so it will be skinny....as a destroyer anyway. the bigger ships will become wider

remember this thing only has 8 turrets. which is not alot compared to another skinny model, the Outcast Dessie that has 12. that being said, i wouldn't doubt that some nerfing of agility might come but i'm not sure...i've never flown the BH destroyer to know how nimble it is.

as for extra fins, like i said before i'll be building off of this design to create the other, bigger cap ships. each increasing in size with more fins and so on

a size boast won t hurt the BHG destroyer. - its worse than a corsair gunboat ( same guns - bigger and less agile than a gunboat of course ) ... the current BHG destroyer is rather useless. - not too bad, but with their battlecruiser ..... its a rather unpopular design.

just remember i have to build off this design to make two more ships. the battlecruiser will more than likely have somthing like the design changes cmfalconer suggested and then the battleship will have even more. a build up of design similar to how the fighters progressed
i'll be doing the modeling, but i'll have to pass it off to an expert to hardpoint, hitbox, and texture it

Very nice design. I think it would be for the best if you continue the line, because then they are more likely to have a more uniform, related look (having all been done by the same person).

You could probably fit some turrets on the sides of the frontal area, on that sideways-U thing. I looks quite sleek and simple, much like the fighters. Very good look for the line in my opinion. Good job.

ok, why is everyone so hip on putting wings on capital ships?
I have not seen any other vessels with wings that could interfere with flight except the lib carrier.
And for what its worth, who says that the capital ships have to match the fighter design?
Does a liberty dreadnaught look like a large version of a patriot?
Corsair Dreadnaught, sabre?

Not flaming but would like a little more common sense put into this.
Wings on a capital ship only serve one function, a hinderence in both flight characteristics or battle.
Other then that, very nice design, just lose the wings and double stack the engines.

Er, Radiating heat/gun mounts that don't provide a wide head on target area!

No one, but it's nice to have a shipline with a matching design philosophy!

' Wrote:Does a liberty dreadnaught look like a large version of a patriot?
Nope! But it does have aesthetics not dissimilar to the Guardian and other Libertonian designs!

' Wrote:Corsair Dreadnaught, sabre?
The Outcast battleship, designed by 'ol Eppy the Bored, does have some very strong borderworld flavor to it. The Corsair Dread takes a little more artistic license though!

Yeah! Comon people get a grip!

I think with proper implementation they can be dead useful, look at the rest of the Bounty Hunter line! The Bomber presents a dead small profile from the front, though it is a bit wider at the sides! It's a design philosophy that could provide a rather annoying to hit target face on, while providing quiet a few vulnerabilities when taken from the side.

Artistic interpretation. it's what i percieved the BH ships to look like. i am following the theme of the entire line of ships, much like the Kusari ships. it also gives a distinct recognizable look to them so there's no doubt what ship it is from a distance.

statements like this crack me up. it's like saying "No offense, but your stupid"

Hm. It's a good design idea, Kevin, I'm glad you brought it up. I'll drop you a line when I get home from school, we can avoid a lot of this hassle just with a quick study of the basics of Capship construction.

Corsair Dreadnaught, sabre?

Sorry, Corsair dreadnaught and sabre... those are ships from two different and warring factions.

The sabre (borderworlds/outcast ship) and outcast battleship have design similarities and the titan (a corsair ship) and the corsair dreadnaught have design similarities.

And yes there are some things that continue between the patriot and the lib dready, they look like they gel as ships from a single faction.

Actualy have a look at the ships and design of them, then work out WHAT FACTION THEY COME FROM beofre you make comments like this in future.

the wings must stay - and i think the two vertical are good for a destroyer - while you can put 2 horizontals to the bigger versions like BC or BB.

the wings are what make BHG ships BHG. - ... since these ships are allmost only one big vertical wing + cockpit + a small thruster. - and personally, i like the wings in the back of the ship.... the wings are in the back on the hammerhead, too ( for what you call a back there anyway )
