' Wrote:It's not that they cheat, it's just that they are actually using a x30 hull multiplier (I'm not exaggerating). You think the Eagles are bad? Go to Omega-58. Take a GOOD look at a Wild Wrath. Now, first off, it has at least 100,000 hull. Yes. I'm not exagerating. Second, take a VERY good look at its weapons. You'll notice that it has only Nomad weapons. Now check those weapons. Two-three will be normal. The other two will be quite strange. They will have the same names, energy use, etc., except for damage. Now, a normal Nomad Blaster does 585 damage per shot at a 4.00 refire, and the normal Nomad Cannon does 705 damage per shot at a 3.03 refire. The strange ones that these wild mount are as follows: Nomad Energy Cannon: 3620 damage at a 3.03 refire rate, and Nomad Energy Blaster: 2180 damage at a 4.00 refire rate. THAT'S BETTER GUNBOAT AND CRUISER TURRETS. It's insane.
I would like to see mission payouts increased, because there actually are people who try to make an income through missions, like myself.
I find it rather annoying that traders make so much more money than people who risk their lives destroying their enemies, when it should be that the trader makes less money while being more safe than the others (save for those crazy pirates).
It is every now and again you do find up to $750,000 missions, but most of the time those involve capitals in which you'd need an army and a half to take down. Though sometimes I have found them to be wings of Level 19 NPC VHF's, most of the time they involve 6-7 capitals which of course makes me have to bring my cruiser.
In essence I do believe mission payouts need to be raised yet again, perhaps the most difficult of missions paying $1,250,000 involving NPC capitals and most Level 16-19 NPC fighters paying anywhere from $350,000 to $800,000.
They should be increased, the only way I have ever been able to make money, other than trading, is to go to Omicron Alpha in my Outcast Destroyer, and do the missions there, ranging from 200K to 750K. It seems like the only way to make money with missions is in the far off systems with a cap ship.
' Wrote:Nope, they stop regenerating after they run out. Scan them sometime, they do go down.
The main problem with their usage of them is that they use one bat at a time, so missiles, mines, plasma weapons are completely useless. Why can't we do that?!
That's why they need to be balanced on an individual ship loadout level. It's very easily done, it just takes a ton of time because there are sooooooo many freaking ship loadouts.
Take a look at the file \\DATA\Ships\loadouts.ini
It's so easy to fix this, and then mission payouts wouldn't have to be adjusted because they wouldn't take forever and cost they player so much in resources to complete.
And because they use nanobots 1 at a time there should not be any instance of an NPC having more than 10 bots at all. Most should probably have 3-5 at max. Shield rechargers aren't as bad because it's so easy to drain them anyway.
Killing NPC within missions does after a while become rather monotonous, what with the server lag, NPC having infinity power, and now with the added bonus of normal NPC pilots using nanites / Battery. Even the most basic mission are a joke, twenty minutes work for 1.3k, you can earn 200k over same time period and using the same craft trading.
There needs to be a complete restructuring of mission system altogether.
' Wrote:agreed, as I said since I was there or so, we really need a dramatic increase of credit income from mission, OR lower the npc AI level.
The AI really isnt the problem, NPC pilots are pretty stupid compared to players. They dont strafe, the haxx by using cruise engines in combat, etc.
The reason some NPC's are so hard to kill is because of a mix of server lag and the fact that they cheat and use 1 battery/bot at a time.
That second issue comes up more often for me than anything else. If i'm aiming at a Light Fighter NPC, who at most has something like 5000 hull strength... and I fire seven Order turrets and two light mortars and every single one of them hits... the fighter will still fly away unharmed.
Basically, if your target even has 1 point of shield strength left, ten million points of damage isnt going to hurt their hull. You cant damage hull until shields are gone entirely, and when NPC's keep using one shield battery at a time it takes FOREVER to get their shields down.
Aye, the mission payouts should be raised maybe just a couple thousand credits for the ones on manhatten, to help out the new guys. With the new and improved AI you have here in disco, New players suffer alot of damagae just fighting lvl 1 xeno's. When i first started i fought some rogues in my starflea and lost all my guns and mission payout was only 2,200 credits, i spent like 1,500 on new guns and atleast 500 on repairs and such, and to think that also 10 bots/bats witch cost 200 per item. So i was in the hole like 4000 credits? But thats my two cents worth.
