Subject: Gateway)Carpathia and Refugee Evacuation

Greetings All,

I had quite the busy weekend of trading, very profitable indeed. I wish to thank Mr. John Smith for his protection on Saturday, as well as Ms. Abbie Eaton for her ongoing guardianship through the weekend. I also enjoyed the company of Mr. McIntyre and Mr. Gonta. It is quite nice to see Gateway convoys gracing Sirius space once again.

Refugee Evacuation Programme

As you know, I had our former MobileHQ - a Royal Liner - converted for the evacuation of refugees from the Leeds warzone. I have re-christened the liner the Carpathia, and it is available for use by all trade captains. I will send the activation codes via our secure comm (SKYPE). The Carpathia is programmed with 5 million credits for trading purposes. When you finish a run, transfer all but those 5 million to your regular trading vessel; that profit is yours to keep.

The Carpathia is well-armed, but take no chances with these good people aboard. Get escorts if you can. My run on Saturday took the refugees to Nuremburg. I then picked up some vacationers from Augsburg Orbital Colony and took them to Baden Baden. From there, I picked up h-fuel on Stuttgart and took it back to Kensington. Luxury food back to New London is also profitable.

I would ask that captains do no more than two refugee runs per day so as to give opportunity to other captains to do the same run. Again, I must reiterate, take no unnecessary risks. The Carpathia ferries over 1700 refugees at a time, and we cannot risk harm coming to these already traumatized souls.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Buchanan out.

Today I took the activation codes for the Carpathia and headed to Planet Leeds to help with the evacuation efforts. Over a thousand refugees packed into the Royal Liner - our staff managed to keep everyone comfortable and content. We departed Planet Leeds to the sound of Dunkirk firepower - it was holding off a nearby Kusari Naval Forces patrol. This frightened many of our passengers, and they were only calmed by the jump to (safe) New London.

We travelled through Bretonia safely and reached the Omega-3 system. Immediately after leaving the jump gate, a BowEx trader told me of an impending pirate attack. Further up the trade lane, there was a large Corsair transport (a Slave Liner, supposedly). It had its turrets pointed towards a fellow trader - we could not stop to help him. As we were jumping to Omega-7 (and safety), the trader was released safely by the Corsair captain. This relieved many of our passengers, who were concerned about the shipper.

The trip through Rheinland was uneventful - when we arrived in Munich many of the refugees started cheering. With our help, they had escaped the warzone and now can lead new lives. The Carpathia moored with Planet Nuremberg and the refugees were safely shuttled down to the surface.

Managed to check in two runs in the Gibraltar today. The first run was alone, I relied on my Shetland's impressive shielding to avoid most minor pirate activity. However, in New London, I was stopped and robbed three million credits by a Molly Bomber. His ship was very menacing, and he surely could have destroyed me if he wished. Thankfully, he was not bloodthirsty and was satisfied by the credit transfer.

In New London orbit, I met Stonehenge. We chose to stick together, as the Molly pirate was still in the system. We loaded up with Mining Machinery and took it safely to the Hood. We then procured Gold and made the medium-length trip to New York. Nothing eventful occurred, apart from the false reports of Outcasts in New York from a trader. He must have tried to scare us away from our intended destination. The competition will do anything these days to get ahead...

The trip back to Planet New London was filled with interruptions - minor pirates were disrupting the trade lanes all the time. Apart from the inconvenience, our ships were in no danger and we arrived at New London safely.

Greetings, everyone!
Today was amazing, I must say.
I took off with Mining Machinery destined for the Hood, in Dublin, when I noticed an indie miner in the system. I hailed, and offered to buy gold from him, but he didn't respond after the offer. Then, out of nowhere, an IMG miner spoke up.
I didn't even realize he was in the system, so that was a pleasant surprise.
We decided to work together, him mining and myself along with my crew in the Stonehenge shipping.
Eventually, Alec in the Perth showed up and shortly thereafter two IMG defense pilots as well.
It was great, and we all made quite a profit.

I really look forward to doing that again!

I took the Carpathia to Planet Leeds to assist with another Bretonia -> Rheinland evacuation program. Nearly two thousand Bretonian citizens applied for this trip - however we could only fit 85% of the applicants. With the Royal Liner loaded, crew ready and passengers calmed down, we moved out towards the New London jump gate. While we cruised away from the stricken planet, we received information that a Bretonian Templar was vapourised as we left orbit. The horrors of the war seemed so close, and so personal. I had heard that Ensign's voice before.

The trip through New London and Cambridge was safe, thankfully. No pirates stopped the Liner and all the refugees were comfortable and content.

In Omega-3, we encountered a few Bowex shippers who were supplying Leeds with Military vehicles. I did not inform the passengers of the ships' contents - they would not be happy to know these traders were continuing the terrible war. Soon after this encounter, we sheltered aboard Freistadt Base as an ion storm hit the sector.

Our trip through Stuttgart, New Berlin and Frankfurt were eventless, which was comforting to our passengers. Arriving in Munich, we encountered several Unioner fighter wings. Thankfully, our gunners were well-trained and managed to drive the terrorists off. Our passengers were shook up in the combat, but no injuries were reported. The sight of Planet Nuremberg appeased them - a new life, filled with many opportunities, awaits these refugees.

The Carpathia is now moored with Planet Nuremberg, ready for the return trip to Leeds. It was a pleasure assisting with the refugee evacuation process.

Charles Dee out.

Tried out a new shipping route on my latest shift. This one involves Gold, Beryllium, refrigerated Luxury Foods and a new commodity to us - Neon gas (stored in very compact canisters). Loaded with Gold, I set off from the Hood. I encountered a friendly IMG miner on the way out - the captain seemed like a nice fellow.

The trip to Fort Bush was pleasant. No pirates were encountered, but there were some delays. The trip took longer than I expected - a disappointing twenty minutes. But the credit boost from the Gold sale cheered me up. We took a small shipment of H-fuel to Manhattan, and got the containers replaced with Neon canisters.

On the way out of New York, my Shetland Train stumbled upon a battle between the Liberty Navy and terrorists known as the Hellfire Legion. I told my Navigator, Jane Matthews, to quickly start our cruise engines and the docking procedure with the California Jump Gate trade lane. We had to get out of there, and we safely escaped the explosion-filled battlefield.

The Gibraltar was safely navigated to Cambridge Research Station, in Cambridge orbit. The neon was offloaded onto the Station, and the scientists there certainly know how to handle their credit cards. The neon gave me a hefty sum - nearly five million credits profit. We headed to Cardiff Mining Facility for the next leg of the trip. The Beryllium was loaded with the help of the IMG staff.

The Omegas were surprisingly quiet at this time of my shift. No pirates were sighted, and there were no incidents to report. Checking in Rheinland at Border Station , we continued towards Planet New Berlin. The Beryllium was sold on the planet-side metals exchange for a profit of around four million credits. A nice sum, I must say. Travelling empty, the Gibraltar flew to Stuttgart for the final leg of the trip. After stocking up on luxury foods (and having the refrigerator components installed and switched on), we returned to Bretonia. Again, there were no pirates to report. This was good news for us, as we had not arranged an escort to guard my Shetland class Train.

The delicacies were offloaded to the awaiting transports on New London - Matthews and I got to sample a few of the leftovers before they were shipped off to warehouses and restaurants. The profits were as tasty as the food - a sum of 4.890.000 credits!

That's all. I'm currently on Kensington writing up some paperwork regarding ship and escort options and my shift rosters. Here's the shipping manifest:

Dear sirs,

Myself and the Crew of the Astypalee, again wanted to thank Gateway Shipping for the valiant assistance of one of your Security Pilots.
Not only did Abbie supply us with a profitable shipping contract, but also escorted our Ship back on the long way from Cambridge to Hamburg.
A bunch of Junkers in an Old Passenger Liner engaged our Trasport, and tried to force our cargo of us, but with the swift assistance of your escorting bombercraft, we got away savely, without mutch more than a joiful smile on our faces.
We hope we will have further dealings in the future.

Greetings everyone.

Today would generally be unremarkable for most, but it was significant for me. I took my Clydesdale, the Cornwall, along with the Stonehenge. We began on New London and took mining machinery to the IMG in Dublin. It was quite quiet, but I had never visited Dublin previously, so that was a nice change. It is rather pretty, but it is too bad to hear of all the past violence there.

From there we took a good amount of the miners' gold to Fort Bush in New York. I had never been there either. After the last time I visited Manhattan and got food poisoning, I was a bit anxious, but it went well. We moved some h-fuel to the planet and picked up luxury consumer goods to take back home.

At this point, we saw an Outcast! I was dismayed at first, fearing I would be captured and sold into slave labor, but the Liberty Navy was on the scene and chased the fiend away. The rest of the trip to New London was uneventful, though I hear Curacao is quite lovely and hope to someday visit.
