I'm aware of the negative repercussions, yeah. IMG used to bring plenty of activity to the region, there's no denying that. The current state of things with the GRN battleship showing everyone who's boss is probably the best mix of gameplay and "lore reasoning" that we could get. I mean, IMG could be kicked out of Tau-23 itself and still have bases in neighboring systems, but then we'd likely have to swap out the "oppression RP" (which I quite like, as a GRN player, since it's not the standard "shoot everything" stuff) for all-out hostility. That then adds yet another faction to GRN's already long list of enemies.

Perhaps there's some form of cool solution out there that offers the best of both worlds in terms of both roleplay reason and actual gameplay, though.

As for vanilla: I don't think we should desperately hold onto that. It's a great "base" to work with, but you can't keep every element the same if twenty years pass and a whole new house decides to invade Sirius. The more dynamic Discovery's universe feels, the better, as far as I'm concerned.

Definitely let me know if you can think of something. Smile
