4.85 sees a new FLHook feature called "Sacrifice".
The way this works is, if you want to buy a gunboat, you have to prick a needle into your thumb, bleed on a tissue, and send it to Majkp's house, his mailbox (which is loaded with FLHook) will detect it, and give you your gunboat. For a cruiser you have to send in a finger, and for a battleship, a hand.
Because of the recent amount of capspamming, the dev team decided we need to put in more stringent means of controlling the number of caps.
Quote:Battleships at the least should be refunded. (Factionalised or not.)
Why should you get credits for an advantage you benefit from. Just consider the credits spent for a better powerplant.
It would be another matter if you were forced to rebuy a ship thats becomming weaker.
Now you can decide, keeping the old weaker powerplant and your credits or upgrade your ship by spending credits for. You also wont get a cap VIII armour upgrade funded by admins, will you?
GAh..... goes and starts up his powertrader.....*grumbles* looks like I need about a cool bil to replace ships...
A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship.

' Wrote:Not unless you dont mind an inferior power plant. Its not something that can be fixed server side. Each capship got a new powerplant which is techically an invisible piece of equipment. When a ship is sold, the power plant automatically comes with it. You know how the ID card does not transfer when you buy a new ship, that is because such internal items like the tractor beam (now the ID) do not transfer during a sale. They are packaged with each ship. When the change happens your curent cap with have an old package.
Wait a minute... this is only an issue if you add a new powerplant, rather than changing an existing one, isn't it? I mean, if you just change the stats of the already existing one, then it should do the change to everyone who has it, shouldn't it?
Ok.
It doesnt matter how much they are just as long as you have enough... just trade uber amounts here and then you can be sure you have enough money for later.
2. Announce a player wipe so that people don't need to rebuy their ships?
3, Tell people to rebuy SOME ships?
Also it is an UPGRADE, meaning if you don't rebuy you keep the same powerplant as you have now. If you so much wonder, this is necessary because many ships were sharing same powerplants and it makes no sense for say a small Kusari Dessie to have same powerplant as Hessian Cruiser does it?
Igiss says: Martin, you give them a finger, they bite off your arm.
