I. Of course it is not expected to always be a winner, but disagree on that strand in charge and even if not change it, I will always disagree. I insist on what I have already quoted: "pay a toll, it's normal." I guess I just like the thief himself !!

You can do, whatever you want, but as long as a pirate acts within his parameters, you have to deal with the consequences. If you don't want to get taxed/robbed, hire escorts or take a ship that you can defend yourself, or avoid trade lanes, since it's easier to avoid pirates while you cruise. Trade lanes mostly spit you out right at the pirates nose.

That doesn't mean you have to be unreasonable. Behaving appropriately during pirating is important since a ridiculous demand such like 15 million credits will hardly get anyone to pay you. The same with expensive cargo. If you're pirating you should also try to think of the trader and imagine what it would be like if you were in his shoes. This isn't the cruel RL world after all, people -can- be reasonable.

But if you instead intend to be greedy and give the impression that you only pirate because you're too lazy to trade yourself? you're in for a disappointment. Consider fair play. If I was given the choice between dropping half of my gold ore to a fighter or even destroyer with my 5k transport I'd show him the middle finger -every- single time. And that's hardly profitable for either side if you think about it.

tl;dr Don't be greedy, be reasonable.

Truth. Meanwhile, they are the most viable. Thank you

Total bullcrap detected. A good roleplayer would roleplay horrible pirate that rob any trader blind to fill the pockets.

Like... Don't trade after 10:00 UTC, as every wise trader does?
Try to avoid trade lanes because pirates are usualy camp them, it could take your time, but not your money and nerves. Also try to avoid the systems with potential pirate appearence, always check chat window and if you see a strange person on your way, make sure to edit your route to svoid them.
One thing that you never can escape are Nomads and their puppets.

If you ever get that impression then you need to do the math.

If I wait in a lane I have to wait ages sometimes and maybe I get lucky. If I fly to a mining area then I can only get something of it 1/3 times. So no pirate does this to get rich. Really... it is impossible.

This is valid if you only trade for money AND to avoid interaction.
You don't rp. Or avoid inrp/oorp consequences. How boring.

A good roleplayer remembers himself always that both sides want to have fun. A good pirate does what you wrote.

That's not a "good roleplayer". That's fair player. Good roleplay can be the worst type of behaviour. Role of a pirate is being the scum of Sirius. If you start hating the pirate, the pirate is actually doing a good job.

People just need to start to see the roles again and not the player all the time. I have characters that I personally hate but it is interesting. They would do horrible and annoying things. But people always hate the player for being "unfair" guys.... RP
