Aww, quit your whining and actually look up the historical precedent.

Charlie...
A)having [LN] before your name would be against the rules, as it is reserved for those of the official faction

B) They don't pirate in Bretonian space, but their enemy's, thus yes, the Bretonian lawful's like them.

C) its only the BAF privateers, officially approved, which are allowed to do this right now, although i think the other houses are getting the same provision next mod.

D) Actually find out about the Privateers and stop whining.

I can put a [LN] before my name, a -p after my name, equip a pirate ID, and be a legal pirate that liberty officials will leave alone?

That whole thing makes no sense to me, as they're doing what the military is supposed to do in the first place with extra rights to demand credits from people not involved in trade.

Are you BAF or are you pirates? this I'm law but I'm not thing really stinks to high heaven, if you ask me. Perhaps I'll try this theory in Liberty space, just to see how far I get. I have 2 open character slots, and I've been meaning to make a pirate anyway.

(waiting to see the first "you can't do that" when the concept has already been approved, and a concept can not have balance if it is confined to only one house out of 4.)
You're argument is flawed. See below:

Quote:I can put a [LN] before my name, a -p after my name, equip a pirate ID, and be a legal pirate that liberty officials will leave alone?
A: You would have to get the LN's permission.
B: The privateers pirate in Kusari space, and the lawful forces there do not leave them alone.
C: They do not pirate in Bretonia, and in fact don't often go to Bretonia.

Are you suggesting the Bretonians should enforce the law in Kusari, a country they are at war with?

Quote:That whole thing makes no sense to me, as they're doing what the military is supposed to do in the first place with extra rights to demand credits from people not involved in trade.
They have the right to demand credits from everyone acting against Bretonia.

Quote:Are you BAF or are you pirates? this I'm law but I'm not thing really stinks to high heaven, if you ask me. Perhaps I'll try this theory in Liberty space, just to see how far I get. I have 2 open character slots, and I've been meaning to make a pirate anyway.
A: Who's military would you be part of, pirating in Liberty? Again, the privateers don't pirate in Bretonia.
B: They never say they're Law. They say they're Bretonian Law, which differs from your imaginary separation between all pirates, and all Lawfuls. Under bretonian Law, trading in Kusari is illegal, and traitorous.
C: You've as many free character slots as you want. FAM

Quote:(waiting to see the first "you can't do that" when the concept has already been approved, and a concept can not have balance if it is confined to only one house out of 4.)
A: You missed the first "you can't do that". It was last year. Try looking at this. And this. Oh, and this.
B: Kusari very well could privateer in Bretonia, the other houses could do so in any space they're at war with. LN had an embargo, which it did enforce for a while.

I must say, that in spite of the accuracy and eloquence of Unseelie's argument, I still believe that my 'LOL LERN TO READ!1!1!!' is more appropiate.

But I need to get to 3k posts somehow. and showing him where to read might help. Then again, I'm beginning to give up on logical discussion, as people seem biased against me.

Or biased against logical discussion..

In this case, "Actually read about the Privateers first." works too..

Or doesn't, if the other person doesn't listen.

My whole point, if anyone cared to look for it, was not to whine but to point out one basic flaw in the logic of having BAF pirates. In this very thread they say they make demands from everyone, whether they're hauling cargo or not, whether they're holding Kusari IDs or not. That is basic and pure piracy. Ironically I was accused of OORP today because I held a Zoner ID (look it up, they're described as neutral on the WIKI) and flying a Liberty Gunboat.

This whole BAF piracy thing is nothing more than OORP. Either you're lawful or you're not. If you're a pirate then you should be flying pirate ships, NOT lawful naval ships. It's nothing more than an excuse to have better ships than other pirates.

If you're lawful then you don't demand things of anyone other than those breaking the law. Law biding traders go on their merry way, unhindered. Only pirates make demands of law biding traders. Pirates are, in the essence of this role playing game, not lawful.

I don't care how "approved" they are by lawful BAF holding lawful IDs or by the admins, they're still nothing more than pirates allowed to use better ships than pirates are supposed to by the established role play of this game. They also set the precedent that those outside of a house military are allowed to use gunboats.

Which way will it be? Either Zoners can use house gunboats, just like these pirates do, or nobody but navy and police of any given house are able. You can't bend role play for one small group of players and continue to say no to others. There is no balance in that.

So you're saying the Templar is better than the Sabre? Just checking here, since pirates *can* use gunboats... Also, "either you're lawful or you're not"? I'm sorry, we've evolved beyond black-and-white. Perhaps your vision could pick up some shades of grey next, and then we can work our way up to full color.

Rogue Gunboat, Corsair Gunboat, Lane Hacker Gunship, Orca, Bounty Hunter Gunship, IMG Gunship - that's right, miners have a gunship. What precedent?

Despite the fact that your mind is narrower than the average power line, there's no "bending" here. Also, Xenos can't use battleships, omg imbalance!

You were just proven right.

@RogueCharlie: Please, care to read what the others actually responded, and don't just skip the parts that contain reasons and logic.

Your world clearly operates in a state of black and white, unfortunately for you everyone else's operates in shades of grey.
