Frankly for my roleplaying in Rheinland for example it doesn't matter at all if there are 40 CR/OC shooting each other in tau-37.
Idea that Canon has is obviously to "divide the universe" in some way. Keeping same playerdatabase for both servers and each would serve own part - so rheinland will for example exist only on one server.. if you try to go there on the other one you'll get connected over.
Yes it's probably hard to and there are obvious problems, so we'll see if it will be possible one day.

I dont have lags (ping with server 5 - 10:cool:) when is server full... ok sometimes yellow lags when bunch of sairs crowd cambridge and 10 BAFs are trying to kick them out and in same moment swarm of hackers and rogues pukes at the orbit of manhatan with ocasional fights with lawdogs coming online and undocking from planet.
Im trying to say lags arent caused by full population... full systems are lagmakers (generaly NY)... I am fan of idea to have separate system for spawning new chars with one way JH to all mayor systems of houses including sairs and outcasts.

Ah well that I'd not have much problem with, because I could travel through the whole Sirius.
Problem is in that automatic switching to other servers, that'll be hard to perform.
And also the Active Players List should be displayed for both servers, not just the one you're currently in.
And then there's the not being able to PM people on the other server problem etc.

Just yesterday you were with me in a fight (on same side), where we both got called laggers, even though neither of us had any lag (as listed by /ping) and neither of the other side had as well.

Nah they was just whinning because they wasnt able to hit us.... didnt felt any lags in this fight. Only noticable lag I had yesterday was in omega 5 in fight with sairs but it was caused by swarmed NY and California in same time.
Allmost allways when I have red lag and open online status window, I see 20 players in NY, 15 in california, 10 in colorado... or huge raid in gama combined with masive raid in NY.

The main reason people stick to their oh so precious role play is because they suck in fights... And there is no such thing as PvP... I don't remember any fight -alone- against another person (trainings not included)that wasn't properly RP-ed... it's FvF (faction versus faction) so get a grip and learn to fly something with maximum of 90 cargo space and 110 b/b. Thank you.
-If you feel like fighting, go alone somewhere and do it RP way...
-If you feel like RP-ing or trading, could you at least try to do it in populated systems?

Lag makes fights annoying and useless.
Although RP is fun, to me it is not complete without fighting. You can play high and mighty how ever much you wish, but when push comes to shove, RP and PVP go side by side.
Thing is, lag makes me pull my hair out and my brain cells die.
yes i do PvP, maybe once a week, if that, considering I play most days it is a ridiculous minority. Infact its probably been closer to a month now, where I haven't had a single fight - so its not for everyone that RP and PvP go together.
So i care little about lag, as long as I can communicate and get where I want to i'm happy. And I'd rather have more people to communicate with.
I can understand that lag during PvP events can be a pain, but perhaps schedule them for quieter times, or as suggested as second server, which character information can be easily transferred between.

cant do nothing more than agree:)
especialy BS patrols (isnt problem to see 4 BSs with cruiser bodyguards in same time at same place) and pirate patrols attacking TLs (be stoped 4 times on same lane is realy too much).
