Heavy bomber (Barghest) can kill bad flown LABC. I have even killed LABC in Hacker GS- 2 Pulse 2 Razor setup but it is extreme case- because of the bad flying skills of the new players it must not be considered as argument. I would like to see the secondary battleship turrets with 2 - 2,2 k range.

I have seen gunboats own cap 8 dread. Not point of this.
And the bomber number. YOu can stay outside weapon range of BS and feed it with SNACs. Ive done it multiple times. Cap 7 dread full solaris against 2 bombers = dead.
Matter of how close you get. Caps are underpowered by all means.

If I wanted a battleship, I probably wouldn't have given away over 900 million credits to various people and factions. Could get one if I wanted to, but they suck, so...

Remember that Freelancer's game engine was never designed to support Capital Ships.

I'd have no quarrel with the current state of the capital/bomber relations if...

I brought this up before, Heavy Battleships such as the KUBS, RMBS, Juggernaut, Corsair Dread, Outcast Dred, Ect. They cannot effectively use Solaris, due to the fact its range is so low it cannot even reach the other end of these ships. While I must note, on Light Battleships (Turret number of 12) and Medium Battleships (turret number of 14) they are quite potent, while leaving the user of these turrets vulnerable to Anti Capital loadout vessels. Which is perfect. No problem here, but the heavy BS solaris NEEDS to be fixed.

Other than this, and CRUISE drain,

Battleships/Bombers are perfect.

Use brains? Like seprating two solaris groups. One on the tail of the ship, other on front. Like 4x 4x or 5x 5x

With introduction of 2x primaries and having bigger quantity of turret slots this is possible. Basicly now you need 6x primaries to drain the battleship powerplant. And guess what is true killers of caps? No not mortars, not pulses. Those are supportive range / anti cap guns for totaly anti fighter gunboat layouts which are popular for smaller bs's. PRIMARIES !


Of course. You will have some drawbacks, but by making ship you need to make tactical desicions, mainly "What porpuse my battleship will serve" you can't have everything. And never will. Or if you do, it won't be efficient enought. FInd a niche, make use of it.

Yeah, except we don't have the source code to edit the game engine. Argument invalid, Battleships are still just over-glorified fighters.
